Patrice Edward Lumumba Olubendi

Sunrise: 07/03/1961 – Sunset: 19/07/2018

The song is ended, but the melody lingers on.. “God saw an empty place in the Garden And when He saw your tired face He put His arms around you and lifted you to rest in the garden He knew that you were suffering and in pain He knew you would never get well on earth again He saw the road getting rough and the hills harder to climb So He closed your weary eyes and whispered “Peace be thine” It broke our hearts to lose you the day God called you home But your memory lives on in our hearts.

We, the Family of the late Patrice Edward Lumumba Olubendi, wish to express our immense gratitude and appreciation for the overwhelming support, prayers and messages of comfort we received during the hospitalization and eventual demise of our beloved Patrice exactly a year ago today. We remain grateful to the Almighty God for the years He gave us with him and hold dear the immense impact that he made in our lives.

We extend our deepest gratitude to both our Kisa and Gem families, In-laws, Friends, Relatives, Neighbours, Colleagues and innumerable well-wishers who visited and condoled with us in Nairobi and Kakamega. The Nairobi and Kakamega Organizing Committees were meticulous and deeply committed. We shall remain indebted to them for the successful Funds Drive and the well -coordinated Funeral Arrangements that culminated in the dignified send- off for Patrice.

Our gratitude and recognition extend to the Bishop of Butere Diocese represented by Rev. Brown Mujete, Mulwanda Deanery, St. Mathews, ACK Church, Mundoli Parish, Mothers Union & Choir and of All Saints Cathedral, led by Rev. Josephine Ngahu, the All Saints Cathedral Folding Ministry, for the superb church services in Kakamega and Nairobi respectively.

We extend special acknowledgment to: AAR doctors and nursing staff, Kenya Railways Veterans, Bharatwalla Family, JICA family in Kenya & Japan, RTI International, and MCs El samma, Jangima, Obingo & Oyombe.

As we are not able to reach all of you in person, please accept this message as an expression of our deepest gratitude. God Bless You all!

1st Anniversary

Sunrise 9/10/1954 – Sunset 12/7/2018

Today we celebrate one year since you went to be with the Lord. It still feels like it all happened yesterday. It’s difficult to forget someone dear who gave us so much to remember. A great soul never dies, it brings us together again and again, and a great soul you were.

Though your death left a void no one can fill, the love you had for us left memories no one can steal. We have learnt to live just one day at a time and we thank God for each and every precious time we had with you. You are fondly and affectionately remembered by your wife Jennifer, children, daughter in law, grandchild, Mum, relatives and friends.

To all those who gave us overwhelming support during our trying moments, kindly accept our gratitude. May the almighty God bless you for being there for us when we needed you the most.

RIP till we meet again.
