The family of Isaac Maseno Mekenye wish to acknowledge the many expressions of sympathy and gestures of kindness shown to us following the passing on of our daughter Gladys Mokua Mong’are Maseno on 3rd November, 2020.

We offer our heartfelt thanks to the relatives, many friends, neighbors and well-wishers who visited our home, attended the funeral service, the burial and provided emotional and practical support for us at the difficult time. For those who telephoned, travelled long distances, sent messages of condolence, as well as many who made financial contributions that enabled us offset medical and related bills, we are truly grateful.

A special word of thanks goes to Dr. Chebet Chepkwony and other doctors in her team, ACU nurses and staff of the Aga Khan Hospital in Kisumu for the kindness and respect shown during the time Gladys was under their care; to religious leaders especially Fr. Lawrence Nyaanga and other clergy who offered prayers throughout this journey; to St. Kizito SCC, Kisii Cathedral Catholic choir and last but not least, to all those who participated in the Holy Mass led by the Parish Priest Fr. We wish to convey our sincere gratitude to the Board, Management, and entire NYEWASCO fraternity for the immense support that you provided in the preparation of Mr. Peter Gichaaga’s sendoff. We are also grateful to the Outspan Hospital Nyeri medical team led by Dr. Ndirangu for the professional treatment and care rendered to Peter Gichaaga up until his demise. Our special thanks go to H.E Governor Mutahi Kahiga of Nyeri County and the staff of Nyeri County; His Grace Most Rev. Anthony Muheria the Archbishop of Nyeri, His Grace Most Rev. Peter Kairu the Emeritus Archbishop of Nyeri, Very Rev. Father Charles Kiruri the Vicar General and all the priests of the Archdiocese of Nyeri for providing spiritual nourishment and encouragement in all the masses held in memory of the late Peter Gichaaga and during his final sendoff. Felix Muriithi, the Elders and congregation of PCEA Miagayu-ini Church. Daughter of the late Samba Gamaliel Obath and the late Christabel Adhiambo Obath of Gem Wagai. Beloved sister of James and Jane Musita, Patrick and Terry Obath, the late John and Pamela Obath, George Obath, Eng Meshack and Mary Clare Kidenda, Patrick Kondo and the late Mildred Obath-Kondo, Florence Obath, the late Stephen Obath, Irene Obath, Christian and Lilian Samba and Geoffrey Obath. An aunty of Pancy, Andy, Zecky and Grace, Brenda, Cindy and Lindsay, Linda, Leon, Diana and Felix and Marvin, Unique, Rachel, Gideon and Yvonne, Simon and Sheila, Beth, Nick and Blake, Imelda, Sharon, Nigel, Wayne, Christabel and Deborah and John. Grandmother of Tamara, Ayanna, Zuria, Andrew, Adonis and Meshack Kidenda Jr.

In celebration of her life, a memorial service will be held at CITAM Valley Road on Wednesday 18th November 2020 from 11.00am -1.00pm Family and friends are invited to attend the service in celebration of the life of the late Margaret Obath.

We also take this opportunity to extend our sincere and heartfelt gratitude to all the friends of Margaret, colleagues, friends of the family and relatives who supported us through prayer, visits, comforting messages and financial support during her final journey. Special appreciation goes to the staff and management of Kenya National Highways Authority KenHA where Margaret worked until her demise, staff of Mater and Nairobi Hospital ICU units, the team of doctors who attended to her led by Dr. C. Today, 11th November, 2020 will be fifteen years that have been tough & very difficult without you dad, but we still have hope of seeing you in heaven since you left us suddenly without a word of goodbye on November 11th, 2005. We cherish the years that God allowed you to be in our lives, always with a smile for us and a welcoming heart to all those who met you. It is those good memories that gives us hope during dark times. One day the sun will shine upon us again in heaven and on that day, we shall be together for eternity.

You are dearly missed by your wife, Dinah Tangui; your children, Dougy Tangui, Carol Kering, Laura Kering and Greg Katamo; your children in-laws Carolyne Tangui, Jack Smith, and Dave Mittei; your grandchildren, Daoud, Liam, Jordan, Dewey, Jade, Crowley and Hector; your parents, brothers and sisters, relatives and friends all over the world.
