Daughter-in-law of the late Mathew Gaitho Njuguna and the late Tabitha Wangari Gaitho.

Mother of Michael Mwangi Mburu (USA), Ann Wangari Mburu (USA), Sophia Wanjiku Mburu (USA) and Elizabeth Wanjiru Mburu (Athi River).

Mother-in-law of Zillah Wakesho Mwangi (Thika), Joseph Kimani Kibunja (USA) and Timothy Muiruri Muritu (Athi River).

The loving grandmother of Lizzette Njeri, Abigel Mwemba, Natalia Wangari and Isaac Njuguna. A loving aunt and friend to many.

Family and friends are meeting daily at their home in Thlka Section 9 Estate, Opposite Kihanya Flats, next to SDA Church from 5:00pm for prayers and funeral arrangements.

The cortege leaves Bishop Okoye Funeral Home on Friday 8th January, 2021, at 08:00am for the funeral service at Gacharage (Kibendera) Catholic Church and thereafter burial at their farm, Kiguoya Village, Kandara Sub-county, Murang’a County.

The cortege will leave Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home Kabati, Kenol, on Thursday 7th January, 2021 at 7.00am followed by a Church Service at ACK St. John’s Memorial Church Gathiru starting at 10.00 a.m.

Thereafter, burial service at his home Gathiru Sub-location, Kaganda Location, Kahuro Sub-county, Murang’a county the same day.

The cortege leaves Montezuma Funeral Home on 11th January, 2021 Morning, for an overnight stay at their home in lsoge Settlement Scheme – Rural Ensakia – Kisii.

Burial service will take place on 12th January 2021.

It is with a heavy heart and in acceptance of God’s will that we announce the sudden death of our beloved Mama Jedida Ong’ato Khasabuli, 56, of Nyorotis village, Nzoia ward, Likuyani Constitutency, Kakamega County which occurred on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Reale Hospital, Elgon View, Eldoret after a short battle with Breast Cancer.

She was a teacher at St.Annes Nzoia Girls’ Secondary School in Mabusi.

Mama Jedida was the first child of the late Fanuel Ong’ato Mwimali and Emily Nakhungu Ong’ato of Musamba village, Matungu Constitutency, Kakamega County. She was the step daughter to the late Juliana Musumba Ong’ato. She was the daughter-in-law of the late Japhether Wanyama and the late Anne Nasimiyu. She was the beloved wife of Julius Khasabuli Wanyama for over 30 years. She was the loving mother to Osborn Yamakhakha (JKUAT), Allan Ong’ato (Ong’ato, Ochieng’ & Co.Advocates), Gasper Masivai (The National Cement Company LTD) and Lindah Nabututu (CGHU Secondary School). She was a step mother to Thomas and Emmanuel. She was Grandmother to Amelia Nabututu. She was a loving sister to the late Phyllis, the late Grace, the late Jessicah, Peninah, Eunice, the late Esther, Dinah, Fridah, the late Gladys, the late Jerusa, the late Jemima, Phanice, the late Fanuel Juma, Patrick, the late Rhoda, Lawrence, Esther, Monica and James.

She was sister-in-law to Moses, James, Jessica, Janet, Stella, Maurice, Edward, Rebecca and Margaret. She was a cousin, niece and aunt to many.

This is testament to the life and times of a God fearing person dedicated teacher, wife, adoring mother, a selfless daughter, the encompassing sister, auntie and friend who lived as an epitome of patience, kindness, humility and service to her larger family.

Her level honesty and integrity was her virtue and nobility and earned her respect amongst everyone everywhere. She cherished her family. She prioritised peace as a pillar in her life. Building bridges was her nature and she saw the good in all humanity. She will be missed by all who knew her.

The cortege leaves Lugulu Mission Hospital Mortuary on 5th January, 2021 for a church service and burial at her home the following day on 6th January, 2021.

It is with humble acceptance or God’s will that we announce the death of Samuel Israel Owiti which occurred at the Coptic Mission Hospital. Nairobi, on the 29th December 2020. The body lies in state at the same hospital. He was a retired teacher at the Aga Khan School, later headteacher Kotetni School both in Kisumu and a renowned Mathematics Books author with the Kenya Literature Bureau.

He was Head Deacon at Kisumu Central SDA Church. He was son to the late Israel Owiti Opap and the late Beldina Auma Owino.

Loving husband to Mildred Akinyi Owiti formerly of JOOTRH Kisumu.

Father to the late Phoebe Akoth, Edwin Omondi Owiti, Richard Otieno Owiti, Salome Auma Owiti, Erick Ayub Owiti, Catherine Esther Owiti and Brian Onyango Owiti.

Father in law to Liza, Sophie and Emma. He was doting grandfather to Millie Omondi, Marion, Tracy, Ivy, Stephanie, Nicole and Annalia.

He was brother to Ruth Okello, Rachel Akinyi Owiti, Enoch Owiti, the late Elijah Israel Owiti, the late Jemima Achieng’ and Kennedy Owiti.

Grandson to the late Ayub Opap and the late Mama Salome Ogilo of Kodumo clan Kasipul constituency.

He was son in law to the late Jorim Anyango Ng’ong’a and Mama Cathenne Anyango Ng’ong’a. He was nephew Elekia Adoyo, Walter Ong’er, Wilson Olela, Joshua Awino and Elly Anditi Opap.

Cousin to the Jakindas, Ebels, Omollos and the Timotheos.

Brother in law to Domigo, Elizabeth Jr and Elizabeth Snr.

The body will be moved from the mortuary on 7th January 2021 for burial on the 8th January 2021 at his home at Kasimba village, Oyugis.

Funeral service will be held at the family home Ndathiini Village Githunguri Sub County, Kiambu County starting at 11.00 a.m.

Mother to the late Kimura Gichuki, Prof Stephen Njuguna (Kenyatta University), Rose Wanjiku (Thindigwa), Elizabeth Wairimu Mugweru (Njoro), James Kiarie (Ongata Rongai), Margaret Wambui Muiru (Muthithi Gardens, Kiambu), the late Florence Mumbi, the late Jackson Boro, John Kung’u (Eden Tea), Paul Ndung’u (Kitengela) & Jane Mukuhi Githinji (Presbyterian University).

Mother in law to the late Peris Njuguna, Dorcas Njuguna, William Mugweru, Miriam Kiarie, the late Col. Michael Muiru, Irene Kung’u, Maria Ndung`u & Joseph Githinji.

She leaves behind many grandchildren and many great grandchildren who dearly adored her.

The cortege will leave Kenyatta University Funeral Home on Tuesday 5th January, 2021 at 9:00am for a farewell service at PCEA Gatina Church at 11:00am.

She will be laid to rest at her home near the PCEA Gatina Church.

Prayers are being held daily at her home from 3:00pm to 4:00pm.
