A prominent farmer and businessman, and a distinguished leader in Uasin Gishu and Nandi County.
Son of the late Maina Kiptoo Kolil and Tabarno bot Atwele,T apnyolei and Tapkurgoi.
Loving husband of the late Dorcas Maina (Kaptuigong) and Monica Koech (Kapsaina).
Father of the late Lord John Koech (Moiben), Sophia Misoi (formerly MEC), Shadrack, Meshack, the late Sarah, Caleb, the late Philip, Nicholas Yego (InterPay Ltd) and Sila; also Scott, Debra and Faith.
Brother of the late Ayabei (Kapbarturus), the late John Too, the late Tele Everlene (Kapchepkaro), Chepng’eny (Kaplitit), the late David Talam, Milka Choge (Kapbartuiyot) and the late George Yego.

Friends and family are meeting daily at his Tarakwa Farm home in Bayete. A fundraising will be held on Wednesday 6th January, 2021 at Tarakwa AlC Church.
The cortege leaves Eldoret Hospital on Thursday 7th January, 2021, at 11.00am for a requiem service at Tarakwa AIC Church and later for an overnight stay at his Tarakwa home.
The funeral will take place on Friday 8th January, 2021, starting at 9.00am at his home.
