It is with humble acceptance of the will of God that we announce the Promotion to Glory of Teresa Nyawira Wachiuri of Laburra village, Mweiga, Nyeri on 8th September, 2019 at the age of 80 years.

Teresa Nyawira was an icon to the family, Church leader for over 40yrs, served the community whole heartedly and was a great philanthropist. She was a committed founder member of Laburra Catholic Church, a catechist, former treasurer and CWA member Mweiga Parish. She was an excellent mother who taught her children to be God fearing and servant leaders.

Daughter of the late Kaguamba and Wothaya of Tetu, Nyeri. Beloved wife of the late Mr. Christopher Wachiuri. Loving mother of Charles Muraguri (Director, Optiven Group), Phyllis Wangari (Korompoi Primary School), Simon Wachiuri (Senior Chief CO. Nanyuki Teaching and Referral Hospital), Stephen Maina, George Wachiuri (CEO, Optiven Group), J.B Wachiuri (Businessman, Nairobi), Francis Wanjohi (Optiven). Mother-in-love of the late Veronica Muraguri, Joseph Wachira, Catherine Ndegwa, Pamela Maina, Mary Wacuka (Optiven Group), Ann Mumbi and Purity Wanja.

Sister of the late Esther Wangui, Nyagichu Kaguamba and Ndegwa Kaguamba. Sister-in-law of Nicholas Muraguri, Palmasio Getecha, the late Michael Meme, the late Dominic Kamau, Edith Kimama, the late Margaret Wanjiru, the late Atanasius Gichohi, Nemesyus Warugongo and Simon Wambugu. Loving Auntie of Nderitu, Wangechi, Kaguamba, Gichuhi, the late Wamaitha, Muthoni, Ndegwa, Muchemi, the late Nyawira, the late Wangui and Many others.Adoring Grandmother of Nellius, Nancy, Carol, Kevin, Maryann, Kiprotich, Faith, Evalyne, Chris, Tess, Maureen, Victor, David, Alex, Jael, Warren, Jasmine, Emy, Jeremy, Nduta, Emmanuella,Abigael and many others.Awesome Great-grandmother of Master Nathan, Ethanjoe, Wilma and many others.

Family and Friends are meeting at Barclays Plaza, Loita Street, 15th floor, Optiven Transformation Centre (OTC) on Monday 9th to Friday 13th from 5:30pm to 7:30pm daily.

Funeral Service and burial will be held on Saturday 14th September at the Family home in Laburra village, Mweiga, Nyeri County from 10:00am.

Mother of the late Charles Kimani, Nancy Wanjiku Wairugu, Rev Peter Njuguna, John Muthee, Winnie Wanjiru Watson, Jane Wambui Githuku, Dorcas Nduta, the late Daniel Kariuki, Serah Wangari Ken and Jessee Ndirangu. Sister of the late Dorcas Nduta Macharia, the late Milkah Wangui Karu, the late Margaret Wambui Tumuti, Mary Waihuini, the late Johnson Kaara, Janet Wangethi Mbuthia and Mwalimu Daniel Kariuki. Step-sister to Susan Wambui, Dorcas Nduta Warui, Grace Wanjiru Macharia, Lucy Wangari Wamugunda , Daniel Kariuki among others. Mother in law of the late Eunice, Wairugu, Murugi, Wangui, Watson, Githuku, Njambi and Kabiti.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily at her Kairo home and at Corner House Mama Ngina house opposite Hilton hotel Nairobi on Wednesday 11/9/2019 at 5.30 p.m for prayers and funeral arrangements.

The cortege leaves Kiriaini Consolata Hospital Mortuary on 13th September 2019 at 8.30 am for funeral service to be held at ACK St. Andrews Church Kairo at 10.00 am and burial thereafter at Kairo Village, Kairo Location, Kiru Division, Mathioya sub County, Murang’a County.

Son of the late Julius Nganga Macharia and Tabitha Wambui Nganga (USA). Father of Melissa Wambui, Avril Faith Mukami and Tamara Wambui. Brother of Anthony Macharia (UK), Catherine Rhoda Ogendo (USA) and Moses Mwangi Nganga (a.k.a. Kim) (UK). Uncle of Kian, Kiana, Kycee, Vanessa, Abby, Jason, Julius and Julian. Cousin of many. Beloved grandson of the late Paul & Rhoda Macharia and Susan Gilbert (Wa-Njiiri).

Friends and family are meeting daily Abbey Hotel (opposite Malindi Dishes) and at his Mihango home from 6.00pm.

The cortege will leave Kenyatta University Funeral Home on Friday 13th September at 7.30am for funeral mass and burial at his parents farm Kambara Village, Mariira Location, Kigumo Sub-county at 11.00am.

Brother of Gitau, Mbugua, Wanjiku, Ndung’u, Gatitu, Njeri, Mukuhi, Muthoni, Kuria & the late Kagotho, Waithaka & Wanjiku. Son-in-law of the late Ayub Muiruri & Elizabeth Wanjiku.

Relatives and friends are meeting daily at his home in Gatumaika-Githiga-Githunguri-Kiambu County for funeral arrangements.

The cortege leaves Mukoe Funeral home on 12th September 2019 at 9.00 A.M for a prayer service at Gatitu PCEA church & burial at his father’s farm, Gatitu -Githiga-Githunguri-Kiambu County.

Words seem inadequate to express the sadness we feel about the sadden demise of Rachael Gathoni Mwangi of Loitokitok (Secretary Mbatian Academy). Rachael was born on 7th June 1976 in Witima village in Othaya —Nyeri County.

She was daughter of Johanah Kang’ara and Mary Wanjiru Kang’ara. Sister of James Maina, Susan Wangui, Joseph Waigwa Leah Kerigo, Jemimah Wandia, Zephania Kariuki, Salome Nyambura and Beatrice Wakarindi. Loving wife of Samuel Mwangi and an adorable mother of Alex Mbau and Sylvia Muthoni.

The cortege leaves Loitokitok Hospital Mortuary on 12th September 2019 for funeral service at Mbatian Academy and thereafter burial at her residence at Loitokitok next to National Oil.

Although no words can fully help to ease the hurt we bear, we know that you are very close and watching over us from above.

A major fundraising will be held on Tuesday 10th September, 2019 at the All Saints’ Cathedral Nairobi starting at 5:00pm.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday 11th September, 2019 at Parklands Baptist Church, Westlands at 12.00pm.

Burial will be held at her parents’ home on Saturday 14th September, 2019 at Khwichemo Village, Ebulakayi Khumusalaba, Khwisero Sub County, Kakamega County.

Son of Mswadi Village, Taita Taveta County, he was one of five children born to the late Mr and Mrs. Nyali. Brother of Josephine Mwanguku, the late Josphat Mwakichuchu, Joshua Mwachia and Haverson Cherera. Over the course of his 60-year marriage to the late Caroline Wali. Apa to Darius, Jane, Joshua, Eric, Zillah, Bigvai and Samuel. Babu to Barbara, Njeri, Laura, the late Wali, PJ, Mkamachi, Wendy, Vanessa, Benedicta, Mshai, Sharon, Didi, Eugene and many others.

Relatives and friends are meeting today, and the main harambee will be held tomorrow (Wednesday 11th September) at Tumaini Chambers (behind KenCom) starting from 6.00pm.

The cortege will leave the Moi Referral Hospital (Voi) on Friday 13th September for an overnight wake at his home in Mswadi, Shigharo sub-location, ahead of the funeral on Saturday, 14th September.
