David M’Muguna Mwendia

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to Glory of Mzee David M’Muguna Mwendia of Kiaruji village, Upper Kithangari Location, South Imenti Constituency, Meru County. Husband of Martha Kinene. Brother of the late M’Marete Mwendia, late M’Ituerandu Mwendia and late Karimi Mwendia. Father of Janet Gatabira Kirogo (Kitengela), Dr. Evangeline Gichunge (Kemu), Julia Muthomi (Kaguru Nursing Home), Bernard Muroria (MCA- Meru County), Rose Gacheri (Tambach TTC), Patrick Gikunda (Meru), Walter Kirimi (Nairobi), Eric Mwenda (Meru), Evans Guantai (MUST). Father-in-law of Professor Hezekiah Gichunge (UoN), Mr. James Muthomi (Former Tutor, Egoji TIC), Kinanu, Kamami, Grace. Uncle of Charles Gituma (former SDCP) and Henry Mwongera (Kiirua). Grandfather of Ntinyari, Mukami, Mutethia, Koome, Munene, Muthorni, Mutuma, Gituma, Kimathi, Kajuju, Karani, Gakii, Munene, Karimi, Nkatha, Kate, Mutugi, Kimathi, Mureti, Abu, Diana, Muthoni and Muguna. Great grandfather of Gideon, Bella and Kendi. Uncle, relative and a friend of many. He was the former first BOG chairman of Ndagene Secondary School, the former first BOG Chairman of Kithangari Secondary School, Former Chairman Kenya Union of Small Scale Tea Owners Association (KUSSTO) in Meru Region, former KTDA Director and first Chairman of Kionyo Tea factory , former first Chairman of Kiaruji Methodist Church, among others.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily for prayers and funeral arrangements at his home at Kiaruji village, Heritage Hotel (Nkubu) daily, and Nairobi at St. Andrews Church on Friday 17th February 2017 and the following Tuesday (22^nd February 2017) and Wednesday (23^rd February 2017). The funeral will be held on Friday 24th February 2017. The cortege leaves Nkubu Mission Hospital at 9am.
