We regret to announce the death of Githae Kiereini.

Githae was the son of Jeremiah and Muringo Kiereini.

Brother of Douglas, Wambui King, Mumbi, the late Mburu and Caroline Kiereini and brother-in-law of Joyce and Wambui Mburu Kiereini.

He was an uncle, cousin of many and beloved friend to many more.

He was cremated at a private family ceremony on Thursday April 6th 2017. There will be a memorial service and celebration of Githae’s life at All Saints Cathedral on April 21st at 2pm.

She was the daughter of His Excellency the late Mzee Jomo Kenyatta and the late Mama Grace Wahu Kenyatta and Her Excellency Mama Ngina Kenyatta.

She was the mother of the late Justice Patrick John Kamau and Emily Wanjiku Kamau.

Sister of the late Hon. Peter Muigai, Peter Magana, Jeni Kenyatta Gecaga, Kristina Kenyatta Pratt, His Excellency Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta and Her the First Lady Margaret Kenyatta, Nyokabi Kenyatta Muthama, Muhoho and Erica Kenyatta.

 

Grandmother to Njomo and Wangui Kamau, Ngwiri and Nyambura Kamau, Wambui (Bo) and Ben Maina. Great-grandmother to Eva Wanjiku and Ruth Kirigo, Arianna Wanjiku, Ryan Kamau, Adrienne Wanjiku and Jamie Kuriah.

 

She was the sister-in-law to Charity Gathoni, the late Sophia Wanjiru, Mary Wamuhu, the late Esther Njoki and Rachel Wanjiru. She was also a beloved Auntie, Grandmother, Great-grandmother and Great-great-grandmother to many. She will be dearly missed. Family and friends are meeting at her home in Lavington. Funeral arrangements to be announced later.

The funeral service will will be held on Thursday 13th April 2017 at the St Andrews PCEA Church at 10am.

Burial will follow thereafter at the Ngando home.

Prayers and burial preparations are taking place daily at their home in Rugakori Village from 5.30pm and Antonio’s Hotel Opposite Cardinal Otunga Plaza, Nairobi. The cortege leaves Gakwegori Funeral Home on Tuesday 11th April 2017 at 9am for funeral service and burial at his home, Rugakori Village, Gachuriri sub location, Embu County.

Niece of Josephine Nyokabi, Mathew Gichuki, Teresia Karanja, Felistas Mwatha, Regina Ndomo, Fred Wanjihia,Thuku Kiwara among others. Cousin and friend of many.

The cortege leaves Umash Funeral Home, Nakuru on Tuesday 11th April 2017 at 7:30am for Mass and burial at her grandfather’s home, Siranga village, Rurie location, Ol Kaloi, Nyandarua County at 11am.

He died in his sleep on the morning of 1st April 2017 at his home in Banana Hill. He is a son of the late Tabitha Wanjiru wa Koinange, husband of Peris Wangui Mwaura.

The cortege leaves Kenyatta University Funeral Home tomorrow Friday 7th April 2017 at 9am for a funeral service at ACK St Michael and All Angels Banana-Hill at 11am. Thereafter the burial takes place at his home in Banana next to Platinum Estate.
