Her Excellency Ambassador Margaret Wambui Kenyatta
1928 – 2017
It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Her Excellency Ambassador Margaret Wambui Kenyatta.
She was the daughter of His Excellency the late Mzee Jomo Kenyatta and the late Mama Grace Wahu Kenyatta and Her Excellency Mama Ngina Kenyatta.
She was the mother of the late Justice Patrick John Kamau and Emily Wanjiku Kamau.
Sister of the late Hon. Peter Muigai, Peter Magana, Jeni Kenyatta Gecaga, Kristina Kenyatta Pratt, His Excellency Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta and Her the First Lady Margaret Kenyatta, Nyokabi Kenyatta Muthama, Muhoho and Erica Kenyatta.
Grandmother to Njomo and Wangui Kamau, Ngwiri and Nyambura Kamau, Wambui (Bo) and Ben Maina. Great-grandmother to Eva Wanjiku and Ruth Kirigo, Arianna Wanjiku, Ryan Kamau, Adrienne Wanjiku and Jamie Kuriah.
She was the sister-in-law to Charity Gathoni, the late Sophia Wanjiru, Mary Wamuhu, the late Esther Njoki and Rachel Wanjiru. She was also a beloved Auntie, Grandmother, Great-grandmother and Great-great-grandmother to many. She will be dearly missed. Family and friends are meeting at her home in Lavington. Funeral arrangements to be announced later.

The funeral service will will be held on Thursday 13th April 2017 at the St Andrews PCEA Church at 10am.
Burial will follow thereafter at the Ngando home.

My most heartfelt condolences go out to Mary of Muhoho, Ndinda, Mumo and Peggy of Musyoka, and Anne of Kamau, on the passing of Her Excellency Ambassador Margaret Wambui Kenyatta. The great-grandniece of The Right Honourable Mzee Jomo Kenyatta and the cousin-once-inserted of Kenya’s current President and I had many nice conversations when she worked at my residence.

It is with great sadness that I learn about the passing of His Excellency Emilio Stanley Mwai Kibaki, C.G.H. and His Excellency Daniel Toroitich arap Moi, C.G.H.. May you feel the devastation in the present, embrace the grief in the turbulent times ahead, and may your wounds heal as time passes.
May the Holy Family provide you comfort, bring you peace, and help Your grieving nation in times of trouble.
