It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the untimely death of Corporal Japhet Mwiti Gichunge of Kenya Police Service who was shot by unknown assailants at Kayole area of Nairobi county on Saturday 19/3/2017.

Beloved husband of Evalyne Kainda of MoH Kaongo Health Centre Father of Brian Mutwiri, Benmichael Mutembei and Redemta Kathambi. Loving Son of Mr Elias Gichunge Lubere and Rebecca Karuta Gichunge. Brother of Haron Muturia Gichunge of Kenya Defence Force (1 KR Nanyuki), Hellen Karambu of TSC Nguthiru Pry, Joram Mutabari, Philip Mungathia of KCB Meru, and Mercy Elias. Nephew of the late Lawrence Kioria and Salim Mwenda. Friends and relative are meeting at the family Home in Antuanuu Village, Muthara Location and Birothe Summit Lodge at Muriri. Friends in Nairobi are meeting at Accra Hotel opposite Tea Room Daily at 5.30pm for burial arrangements. The body is at Kenyatta University Funeral Home.

The burial date is set on 31/3/2017 at his home Muriri town behind the District headquarters.

She was a student at Kilimani Primary School (Deafblind Unit). Adoring daughter of Mr. Jared Ouko Alila and Mrs. Jane Akumu Ouko of State House Primary School. Sister of Frankline Oduor Ouko of Johanesberg (SA), Allan Ochieng’ Ouko of Johanesberg (SA), Vivian Ouko Okech of Kenya Women Finance and Robert Ouko. Granddaughter of the late Damar Owiny, Samsom Alila, Joel Oluoch and Rael Oluoch. Niece of Charles Ouma Alila, Dennis Alila, Doris Oluoch and the late Jane Olilo. Cousin of Chadwick, Bon, Mercy, Collins among others.

She was the last born of her family and brought joy to many lives and she will be greatly missed by many whom she had conversations with in her life.

The cortege leaves Nairobi Women Hospital Mortuary on Wednesday 22nd March, 2017 at 12.00pm for Requiem mass at Maxwell Central SDA church starting 2.00pm.Thereafter the cortege proceeds to their residence at Harambee Sacco Estate, Menengai Court, Hse No. 813.

The cortege will leave on Thursday 23rd March 2017 morning for burial on Friday 24th March 2017 at Wang’apala/Misambi market Center – Kabondo Kasipul Constituency.
