Corporal Japhet Mwiti Gichunge

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the untimely death of Corporal Japhet Mwiti Gichunge of Kenya Police Service who was shot by unknown assailants at Kayole area of Nairobi county on Saturday 19/3/2017.

Beloved husband of Evalyne Kainda of MoH Kaongo Health Centre Father of Brian Mutwiri, Benmichael Mutembei and Redemta Kathambi. Loving Son of Mr Elias Gichunge Lubere and Rebecca Karuta Gichunge. Brother of Haron Muturia Gichunge of Kenya Defence Force (1 KR Nanyuki), Hellen Karambu of TSC Nguthiru Pry, Joram Mutabari, Philip Mungathia of KCB Meru, and Mercy Elias. Nephew of the late Lawrence Kioria and Salim Mwenda. Brother-in-law of Geoffry Kaibonga Ampuria of MoH Namanga, Dr Silas Kinyua Kithela of KNH, Major (Rtd) Maingi Kithela of UN Somalia, Doreen and Judy Kithela. Cousin of Elijah Mweteri Kioria of AP, Miriam, Felix, Michael Laibuta of Eco Bank, Mweteri, Kimathi Stephen, Munene Mwebia of UoN, Kimathi Ndune of KDF among others. Uncle of Lorna, Rufinah, Diana,William, Larry, Ntash, Mugambi & Muthomi.

Friends and relative are meeting at the family Home in Antuanuu Village, Muthara Location and Birothe Summit Lodge at Muriri. Friends in Nairobi are meeting at Accra Hotel opposite Tea Room Daily at 5.30pm for burial arrangements. The body is at Kenyatta University Funeral Home.

The burial date is set on 31/3/2017 at his home Muriri town behind the District headquarters.
