John R Njenga (JB)

 We humbly announce the death of John R Njenga. Loving husband of Jane Wamboga and Jane Wambui. Loving father of Kriss Kimani and Bai Njenga. Son of the late Joshua Kimani Nagi and the late Marion Waithira, the late Jennifer Njanja and the late Nancy Wanja.

Brother of John Njenga, the late Francis Kahende, Jane Njeri, the late Salome Wanjiku, Lydiah Kimani, Rosemary Thandi, Regina Nyambura, Billington Njoroge (Zuu), the late Winnie Muthoni, Vincent Wainaina and Fredrick Warui. Son-in-law of the late Justus Mbai and Rose Wanjiku.

He passed on after spending two weeks in ICU at The Mater Hospital.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily at the All Saints Cathedral from 5pm to 8pm from Tuesday 21st February 2017 and at their Kangemi (Kang’ora) Home.

Lydia Wangu Wambugu

Loving wife of Arthur Wambugu. Mother of Jane Mukami (Amaco), Julia Muthoni (Naivasha), Grace Wangeci (USA), the late Johnson Muiga, Beatrice Nyawira (Nominated MCA Nakuru) and Abraham Maina (KPC). Sister of Grace Wamuyu, Rose Wakiuru, Agnes Wangeci, the late Beatrice Nyawira, Murage Kabuchu and Marii Kabuchu. Mother-in-law of David Thogoto (Nakuru), Simon Mwangi (Oserian), Paul Mwangi (USA), the late Joshua Njenga (Turi) and Sally Wairimu. Grandmother of Catherine, Johnjoe, Ian, AnnMarie, Dilane, Daisy, Eliud, Arthur and Ivy Wangu. Great grandmother of Natasha Mukami. Friends and family are meeting daily from 5pm at their residence in Njoro for funeral arrangements.

The cortege leaves War Memorial Hospital Mortuary on Friday 24th February 2017 at 8am. Funeral service and burial will take place thereafter at their farm near Sian Roses in Njoro.

Jilani Mwamuye Chando

It is with great humility and acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to glory of Jilani Mwamuye Chando of Kimawasco on 13th February 2017.

Son of the late Cllr Peter Chando and Rosemary Mwamuye. Husband of Linah Machocho Jilani and Sarah Sidera (Kisumu Law Courts). Doting father of Lucky Jilani, Rosemary Jilani, Tamara Jilani, Vivica Jilani and the late Natasha Jilani. Brother of Gladys Mwamuye, Edward Mwamuye, Franscisca Mwamuye, Shadrack Mwamuye, Pauline Mwamuye, Esther Mwamuye and Kenny Mwamuye. Uncle of Tom, Mkasi, Precious, Michelle, Bright and Hope among others. Loving nephew of Dorah Chando, Irene, Esau, the late Joshua, Paul,Wilson and Jacob.

The cortege leaves Pandya Hospital Mortuary on 24th February 2017 at 8:00am for a brief stay at his Mnarani, Kilifi home and later service at the deceased home in Kidutani Chonyi home, night vigil will be at Kidutani.

A requiem mass will be held at the family home in Kidutani Chonyi on 25th February 2017 an dater burial at his father’s farm in Kidutani Chonyi.

The Lord gave and he has taken may his name be praised. Rest in Peace Jilani.

The cortege leaves Montezuma Funeral Home on the 22nd February 2017 at 7am for JKIA from where it will be airlifted to Kisumu International Airport, then by road to his Kakamega home for an overnight vigil. The body will be transported to his Nyamira home on 23rd February 2017 for an overnight vigil. Funeral service and burial will take place on 24th February 2017 in Gachuba, Kenani Village, Nyamira County.

Daniel Kamau Thiga

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to glory of Daniel Kamau Thiga.

Son of the late Stephen Thiga Ndehi and the late Rose Waithira Thiga. Loving husband of Racheal Wanjiru Kamau. Doting Dad of Stephen Thiga and Rose Wachira. Adored brother of Lilian Njeri and Kamau Kibiru, Oliver Ndehi and Eunice Wangui, Wallace Mungai and Salome Njeri. Uncle of Kiburi, Thiga, Nyamatu and Waithira.

Relatives and friends are meeting daily at his home Kigumo Village Komothai Location from 3pm and Blue Springs Hotel Thika Road from 6.30pm daily.

The cortege leaves Kigumo Hospital Mortuary at 9am on Friday 24th February 2017 for funeral service at their Farm Gathiga, Gathugu, Kiambu County.

 

 

Stephen ‘Mitu’ Githehu.

It is with great sadness that we announce the tragic and unexpected death of Jane Mukami’s brother, Stephen ‘Mitu’ Githehu.

This has truly been the most challenging week of her life after losing her grandmother on February 11th then her brother on February 16th.

Here is more information from Jane about her brother Stephen.

Everybody referred to Mitu as a “cool and funny guy” from the staff at the leasing office of his apartments to his friends and former army mates who he served with between 2010 and 2014 before enrolling for a degree program at Kennesaw State University.
He started acting strange in 2015; he wouldn’t leave his apartment and his social life dwindled. He shunned his family and friends. He wouldn’t open the door for his only sister neither would he answer his phone or reply to messages. After months of locking himself in, the sister called the cops who went to his apartment and reported that he was clean shaven and looked “normal.” He told the cops to tell his family to leave him alone. But clearly something was bothering him.

His mother flew down from Kenya in November 2016 and she knocked on his door daily for weeks, but he wouldn’t open for her. She was devastated. The family tried everything, from going to the court to seek a 1013 certificate which authorizes transportation of a person that appears mentally ill, but that didn’t help because they needed 2 witnesses that had ‘laid eyes’/seen Stephen within 48 hours and observed irregular behavior. His mother and sister explained how he wouldn’t allow them to see him and that they had called the police several times. The court was not of much help. His mother flew back to Kenya very heartbroken from not seeing her son and feeling helpless for not being able to get any form of help.

Two weeks ago, he texted his sister out of the blue saying he was about to get evicted from his apartment. He asked if she wanted his paintings. She off course said yes and they were able to meet. At that point, Jane asked him, “where will you move to?” He said she would know soon enough. She asked him to move in with him but he refused. A few days later the sheriff and team showed up to evict him. As soon as they walked into his bedroom, he grabbed his gun and shot himself.

He leaves a confused and wounded family. He leaves behind questions nobody can answer. He leaves a crashed mother, sister and father.

Let us show our support for Jane and her family during this challenging time both in prayer and financial support as they prepare to lay Mitu to rest. We have set up a Funeral fundraiser to help contribute towards the funeral expenses.

She was beloved mother of G.G Githui, the late Mbuki, the late Muriithi, Nyokabi, Milka the late Ndegwa, Matindi, Karima, the late Mwaniki, Mwarania, Njeri and Wamucii,

Mother in-law of Kiambo, the late Maina, the late Waiya and Migwi. She was Co-wife to the late Nyokabi. Stepmother to the late Mbuki, the late Gitonga , the late Theuri, the late Nyamuiru, Gathoni, Ndegwa, Wairimu, Wangui, Mwaniki and the late Weru, Sister of the late Karima Ndoria, the late Matindi, the late Wachera, Kagendo, Wandia, the late Wabera, Wangui and Wairimu Matindi. Step sister to the late Matindi Weru, Karima, the late Runyora and Wangu.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily at her residence (Muthaiga Nanyuki) at 4:00pm and at Ibis Hotel Nanyuki at 6:00pm. The cortege leaves Nanyuki Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary on Thursday 23rd February 2017 at 9:00am. Funeral service will take place at Muthaiga PCEA Church at 10:00am and thereafter interment at her residence in Muthaiga Nanyuki.

We regret to announce the death of Eunice Randiki Onyuka, a teacher, of Joyland Special Kisumu after short illness. Daughter of Fanuel Randiki (Tusome City Manager, Nairobi) and Janet Atieno Onyuka. Mother of Gerald Babu. Granddaughter of the late Zephania Randiki and Joyce Randiki. Sister of Evans Onyuka, Dr. Jackson Onyuka, Dorothy Randiki and James Randiki. Niece of Edwin Ooko, Wilson Okech, Odhiambo Ocholla, Jalang’o Wang’oma, late Wahanda Wang’oma, Juma Wang’oma, Oriwa Wang’oma, Osura Wang’oma and Ochieng’ Wang’oma. Sister-in-law of Lilian Onyango, Marvis Onyuka and Rachel Onyuka.

The cortege leaves Avenue Hospital Mortuary Kisumu on Friday 24/02/2017 to St. Emanuel ACK church Shaurimoyo Parish Kisumu for requiem service. The body will be transported to West Gem Kathomo Rakuom for overnight vigil. Funeral service will be precided over by Rev. Roy Benson Otieno Vicar in charge of Ulamba Parish Maseno West Diocese on Saturday 25/02/17.

Sister of Joseph Wachira (Kirinyaga) Wanjiru (Kiambu) Mureithi (Kates Apartments), Kagwe (Kirinyaga), the late Wanderi, Mrs Wanjiku Karani (Nairobi) and Wairimu (Aga Khan Hospital). It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jane Wanjiru Njomo that occurred on 17th February 2017.

Daughter of the Late Christopher Njomo Kamau and Mrs Marion Wakanyi Kamau. Sister of Anne Gathoni (deceased), Mary Wanjiku Ngatia and Pauline Mugure Ngenga. Sister-in-law of Michel Bosio (deceased), Ngatia Ndung’u and Patrick Ngenga. Aunt of Solange (deceased), Mbithi, Wangui, Mutanu, Wakanyi and Nzomo.

Family and friends are meeting for prayers and funeral arrangements at Holy Family Basilica, Nairobi on Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd February 2017 at 5pm. The funeral will be held on Thursday 23rd February 2017. The funeral cortege will leave Lee Funeral Home at 10:00am for the service and burial at 11am at Lang’ata Cemetery Nairobi.
