It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Catherine Wambui Kariuki (Mama Wairia) of Gikomba Market and Kates Apartments – Westlands.
Wife of Stephen Kariuki Wairia of Kates Apartments Westlands. Beloved mother of Patrick Wairia (IMPAX business) and Newton Mwangi (Digital Arts, Britain UK). Daughter of Eliud Mwangi and Edith Mwangi of Kagumo, Kirinyaga County and daughter in law of the late Erastus Wairia and Gladys Mweru of Kihuri Village, Othaya. Sister of Joseph Wachira (Kirinyaga) Wanjiru (Kiambu) Mureithi (Kates Apartments), Kagwe (Kirinyaga), the late Wanderi, Mrs Wanjiku Karani (Nairobi) and Wairimu (Aga Khan Hospital). Sister in law of Wangeci Muhinya (Waihara Village), the late Mary Wangari Mbuki (Makutano Sagana), Grace Wairimu (Lands Nyeri), Godfrey Gachoka (2 NK Sacco) Gerald Wageni (Faredeal Hardware Gikomba), the late Lucy Muthoni (Watima) and the late Wamuyu.
Friends and relatives are meeting daily at Kates Apartments Westlands and at St Andrews PCEA Church on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for prayers and burial preparations at 5pm.
The cortege leaves KU Mortuary for burial Mass at St Joseph Cafasso Catholic Church Kihuri Village, Othaya on Saturday 25th February 2017 starting at 10am and later burial at her husband’s home at Kihuri.
It is God who gave us Catherine and he has taken her away. Rest in peace mum.
I still cannot believe you are gone Wambui. We loved you but God loved you more.
May your soul rest in eternal peace until we meet again.
