It is with heavy hearts, deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the untimely demise of John Kiprono Chepkwony on 10th January 2017 following a long illness bravely borne. Until his death, John Kiprono resided in Kituro sub location, Kabarnet sub County, Baringo County.

Son of late Bernard Chepkwony and Christina Kabon Chepkwony. Loving husband of Rose Kiprono and father of Anastasia Jepkurui Kigen (USA), Celestine Jepkech Kiprono (USA), the late Marcellus Kimutai Kiprono and Silvarious Kiprotich Kiprono (Kabarnet). Grandfather of Khloe Kigen (USA) and Kyle Kigen (USA). Brother of Selina Cheserem, the late Daniel Cheserem, the late Michael Cheserem, the late Alphonse Cheserem, Charles Cheserem, Cornelius Cheserem and Richard Cheserem. Brother-in-law of the late Chepsergon Arap Chesang’, Pauline Kobilo (Kabarak), the late Jennifer Chesang’, Anthony Ribogin, the late Joseph Chesang’, Hon. Grace Kiptui (Baringo County Woman Rep), James Chesang’ (Kabarak) and the late Josephine Chesang’. Uncle of Leonida Birir, Noela Talam, Patricia Komen, Grace Komen, Augustine Kipruto, Paul Kipruto, Emma Kibet, Purity Koech, Faith Kemboi, Joy Kiplagat among others.

Meetings are taking place daily at his residence in Kituro from 5pm and at The Professional Centre, Nairobi, from 6pm.

The dates and plans for the requiem mass and burial ceremony will be communicated at a later date.

Son of the late Chief Wilson Ogachi and the late Peris Moraa.

Husband of Hellen Kemunto and Prisca Kemunto. Father of Jesse Maroma (Kisii School) Fabio (Kenyatta University), Janet (USA), Mercy (Nation Media Group) Silvia (Stanbic) and Wilson.

Brother of late James, Mary (USA), Isaac, late Ogega, Henry, Jane, Fred (USA), the late Siriba, Omoke and Kemari.

Grandfather of Andre, Ethan, Stephanie, Tyriq, Celine among others. Son in law of the late Omari and late Onchiri. Brother in law of Juma, Thomas among others. Korera of Ogega, Siro and the late Prof Ayuya. Nephew of Abel and Olpha. Cousin of Senior Chief Ndege, Charles Nyaberi, Charles Ongwae (KEBS) among others.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily in Nairobi, Kisii town, USA, and his home.

Funeral arrangements are underway. Burial date to be announced in due course.

Family and friends are meeting daily at her home in Kianduru village Ruiru Dam and in Nairobi at Lutheran Church Hall (Opposite St Andrew’s PCEA Church on Nyerere Rd) from 5.30pm.

There will be a funeral service on Sunday (15th January 2017) at her home in Kianduru starting at 3.30 – 5.00 p.m.

The cortege will leave Mukoe funeral home in Githunguri on Tuesday 17th January 2017 at 8.30a.m.The funeral service will be held at PCEA Elijah Wathika Memorial Church — Kahunira. Thereafter the burial ceremony will take place at her farm in Kianduru- Ruiru Dam, Githunguri.

Daughter of the late Norman Kamau and Agnes Wanjiku. Mother of Agnes Wanjiku, Fr. Paul Maichuhie (Chaplain Aquinas High, Huruma Girls.), Peter Chege (Conventional Cargo), Joseph Kamanu (Karigu-ini School), Kamau Maichuhie (Standard Media Group), Joseph Mukima and John Karanja.

Sister of Paul Ndung’u the late Agatha Wairimu (Kitale) and Lucy Gathoni. Grandmother of Pascaline, Valerie, Jessica, Stephanie, Raphael, Ryan, Abigeal, Teresia Wanjiru, Teresia Wangari, Jane, Carol, Faith, Patrick and Fredrick. The cortege leaves Kenyatta University Funeral Home of Monday 16th January 2017 at 8.00am for requiem mass at St Teresa Catholic Church Ngenya at 12 noon followed by burial at home in Mbariki village.

There will be a memorial service on 16th January 2017 at ACK St John Church Tuala at 2pm, and the burial service will be held at ACK St. Barnabas Church at 10am Thuita Village, Mathioya Sub-County in Murang’a County on the 17th January 2017 and thereafter burial will be at his farm in Thuita Village.

Loving mother of Muthoni, the late Kuria, Miriam, John, Shikoh and Trizah.

Daughter in law of the late Joseph Kuria and Jane Muthoni. Sister of Gathoni, Wacera, the late Iregi, Wambui, Njuguna, Waithera (USA), the late Sammy, Dube, Kariuki and Lucy (USA). Sister in law of Teresa, Ndung’u, John, Monica, Nancy, Mary and Margaret.

Family and friends are meeting daily at Furaha Workshop Centre – Kiambu starting from 6pm. There will be a fundraising at the same venue on Sunday 15th January 2017.

Son of the late Joseph Kiume Kioko and Mary Ngonyo. Son in law of Patrick Njenga and Cecilia Wairimu Njenga.

Brother of Daniel, Laban, Kumbu, Mwatu and Miriam. Brother in law of Jane, Mary, the late Katile, Jennifer, Mbithe, Wainaina (Kiume Kioko Company), Njambi, Njeri among others. The cortege leaves Montezuma Funeral Home (Machakos) on Saturday 14th January 2017 at 8am. Funeral and burial service will be held at the Kiume Farm, Kitandi Village, Watema Location, Kee Ward, Makueni County on the same day starting from 11am.

Daughter of the late Mugo wa Ngecu and the late Grace Wairimu Mugo. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Githung’a Kibithe. Loving mother of Magdaline Gathoni Kuria, Grace Wairimu Kuria, Jane Wangari Gathumbi (Muguru Primary School), Lucy Nyambura Kabugi (Westiands Primary School), Faith Waruguru Khahi, Samuel Mugo (Nakuru), Mary Njeri Mukuna, John Kibithe (Nakuru), Rose Waiyego Mwiti (Thika) and Caroline Wangui Miano. Sister of Zacharia Mwangi (Wanjerere), Esther Nyambura (Wanyororo), Maria Wangui (Kiawambogo) and Mary Njeri Muriithi (Nyagatugu).

She is survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The cortege leaves Nakuru War Memorial Hospital Mortuary on Friday 20th January 2017 at 6am for a Requiem Mass at Kiawambogo Catholic Church and thereafter Burial at her Kiawambogo Home in Kangema Sub-County, Murang’a County.
