Its with humble acceptance of Gods will that we announce the death of Ruth Wambui Gathumbi on 9th January 2017 at MP Shah Hospital, Nairobi. Daughter of the late Peter Ngaruiya and Susan Wanjiku.

Wife of the late David Gathumbi Wanguru. Sister of Solomon Ndung’u, Andrew Kiragu, Jedida Wanjiru, Grace Njeri, Josephine Mucera and the late Beth Wangui.

Mother of Jacob Ndung’u, Jackson Ngaruiya, James Gathuru, Alice Mwihaki, Anne Wanjiku, Leah Nyambura, Charles Kibe and the late Joseph Kihumba. Mother-in-law of Beth Muthoni, Grace Nyambura, Anne Kanana, Masheti Masinjila, George Ndung’u and Mithamo wa Kariuki.

Grandmother of David Gathumbi, Cynthia Wambui, Viane Ruth Wambui, Don Mowen Gathumbi, Faith Wanjiru, Lewis Thiong’o, David G. Ndung’u, Arudi Masinjiia, Alaeka Masinjila, Jabali Kariuki and Pendo Mumbi.

Family and friends are meeting daily at her home in Kianduru village Ruiru Dam and in Nairobi at Lutheran Church Hall (Opposite St Andrew’s PCEA Church on Nyerere Rd) from 5.30pm.

There will be a funeral service on Sunday (15^th January 2017) at her home in Kianduru starting at 3.30 – 5.00 p.m.

The cortege will leave Mukoe funeral home in Githunguri on Tuesday 17th January 2017 at 8.30a.m.The funeral service will be held at PCEA Elijah Wathika Memorial Church — Kahunira. Thereafter the burial ceremony will take place at her farm in Kianduru- Ruiru Dam, Githunguri.

Mum, you have fought a good fight, you have finished the race and you have kept the faith. Rest in Peace
