1933 – 2017

It is with our deepest sorrows that we inform you of the death of our father Samuel Wainaina Mwangi on 12th April 2017 at St. Paul’s Hospital, Kitengela.

Husband of the late Sarah Njoki Mwangi. Son of the late Daniel Wainaina and the late Ruth Wambui. Son-in- law of the late Henry Kamure and the late Alice Waceke. Brother of the late Miriam Nyambura, James Gacheru, Wilson Mbai and Esther Njeri.

He is survived by his Children Rev. Henry Nduti, James Mbugua, Nancy Wambui, Evelyne Muguimi, Rose Nyambura and Susan Wachira; Children-in-law Jane Nduti, Ndinda Mbugua, James Muguimi and Lawrence Wachira; Grandchildren Kevin, Catherine, Amani, Riziki, Ian, Gloria, Junior, Marshall, Jeremy, Rita, Wayne, Carla and Andy; and Great Grandchildren Taji and Shannon.

A time of gathering will be at the Shalom Hospital Mortuary, Kitengela on 21st April 2017 at 9am followed immediately by a Funeral Service at Holy Trinity ACK Church, Kitengela. Thereafter he will be laid to rest at their family farm in Kitengela.

Friends and Relatives are meeting at Maasai Discovery Hotel Next to PCEA Church Kitengela at 7pm daily and also at the Holy Family Basilica Nairobi (Cardinal Otunga Hall) from 18th to 20th April 2017 at 6 pm.

Step mother of Deputy Principal Livingstone Okomba his brothers and sisters. Mother-in-law of Loise Okomba, Reuben, Velma and Ombaso. Sister of Loise, Ayub, Titus, Phillip, Miriam, Moses, Neddy, Jairus the late Seline and Isaac.

Loving grandmother of Prince Hillel, Queen Chantal, Princes, Praise, David and Victorious. Sister-in-law of Lt. Col David Okomba of (Kenya Navy),Timothy Muchanji, Mr & Mrs Simon Wesanza, Isaac, Benard etc, Aunty, stepmother, cousin and friend of many.

Family and Friends are meeting daily at her Rural home Malaha Mumias East and at Nairobi Railway Club starting at 6.00p.m for prayers and funeral arrangements.

The cortege will leave St. Mary’s Hospital Mortuary Mumias on 15/04/2017.

The funeral service will be on 17/04/2017 at Malaha Mumias East.

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Dr. Humphrey Wanjala Nyongesa a Senior lecturer in the School of Agriculture, Veterinary Sciences and Technology at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology who passed on, on 2nd April 2017 in a fatal road accident.

Son of the late Benjamin Nyongesa (Abahirifuma) and Abigael Ayuma (Abamwiru) from Sirigoi Sub-location, Matoi village. Husband of Florence Wanjala (MMUST), Lilian Omach (Kimumu High) and Winny Cheptoo (ICS). Father of Chilian, Ebby, Mary, Edwin, Kennedy, Collins, Edith, Joy, Stephen. Quirine, Noline, Donald, Brayan and Tecla. Brother of the late Alexander, Late Godfrey, Wilberforce, Philemon, Harambee, Ondungu, Imbiakha, Sarah, Judith, Getrude, Registrude, Mildred, Rabecca, Ludigard, Josephine, Night, late Nachami, Okanga, Heri. The cortege left Kakamega Mortuary on Wednesday 12/4/2017 for his residential home in Sichirai, Kakamega, for an overnight vigil.

On Thursday 13/4/2017 the body proceeded to Matoi Village, Sirigoi Sub-Nambacha Location, Navaholo Sub-County, Kakamega County.

He will be buried on Saturday 15/04/2017 at Matoi Village in Kakamega County.

Husband of the late Susan Cheruiyot. Beloved father of Benjamin, Jonathan, Daniel, Lilian, Clara and Emily. Brother of Kibet, Jane, Abraham, Sarah, Elena and Esther. Father-in-law of Jonah, Jacob, Nancy and Alice. Grandfather of thirteen.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily from 2pm at Kamur Farm Kachibora, Trans Nzoia County, for funeral arrangements. There will be a fundraiser on Sunday 16th April 2017 at Kamur Farm, Kachibora and Kitale Club from 2 pm.

Wife of the late William Odiyo Malawi of Uyoma Kokwiri. Daughter of the late Joahnes Ojuok and Teresia Auko Ojuok of Kisumu Kapuonja. Concilata was the Daughter-in-law of Pricila Apila and the late Zedekia Odiyo. Concilata was the Mother of Booker Washington, Zedekia Malawi, Barnabas Malawi, Peter Otieno, Millicent Hargis, Josephine Malawi and Caroline Ochieng. Grandmother of Tracy, Natasha, Babu I, Babu II, Melissa, William, TJ, Sammy, Olivia, Jasmine, Tiffy, Darien, Deinol and Joseph. Mother-in-law of Violet, Beatrice, Lorna, Liz, Joseph, Evans, and John. Sister of George Ojuok, Franciscah Atieno, Felister Aoko, Margret Adhiambo and the late Frederick Ngasi. There shall be a fundraiser at her residence in BuruBuru on Saturday the 15th of April 2017 at 2:00 pm.

The cortege leaves Umash Funeral Home at 12 noon on 20th April 2017, for a memorial service to be held at ACK St James Buruburu from 2.00pm. There after the cortege leaves for her residence in Buruburu for a night vigil.

Burial will take place at Uyoma West, Kokwiri sub location Manyuwanda. Onoka Malawi will be laid to rest in Uyoma, Kokwiri on 22 April 2017.

Doting mother of Lydiah Lynne Ngendo formerly a student of JKUAT and Neema Kirigo of Parklands Baptist School. Sister of Mrs. Ruth Muchiri, the late Mr. Samuel Muriithi, Mrs. Esther Njuguna, Mrs. Martha Wanjohi, the late Mr. John Kimotho, Ms. Peris Wangechi, Mr. Symon Wambugu, the late Mr. Julius Mwangi, Mr. Peter Wachira, Mr. Jeremiah Ngwiri, the late Ms. Mary Muthoni and Mr. Karanja Karugu. Sister in law of Mr. Charles Muchiri, Mrs Esther Muriithi, the late Mr. Francis Njuguna, Mr. Samuel Wanjohi, Mrs. Monica Kimotho, the late Mrs. Lydiah Wambugu.
