Abisage Bonyo Olum

It is with deep sorrow and acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Mama Abisage Bonyo Olum which occurred on 24th December 2016. Beloved daughter of the late Blasto Nyariro and Ada Oguso of Seme-Kombewa, Kisumu County. .

Loving wife of the late Gilbert Alfred Olum of Sakwa-Bondo, Siaya County. Loving co-wife of the late Hellen Olum and Margaret Olum. Loving mother of Grace Ochuonyo, Betty Tuju, George Olum, Janet Okore, James Odhiambo, Evelyne Bwoga, Caroline Omega, Jane Andwati, Dick Arina, the late Samson Okeya, Ann Abonyo, the late Amos Wenwa and the late Renard Owe among others.

Loving mother in law of Dan Ochuonyo, Shem Tuju, Edith Olum, Peter Okore, Phoebe Odhiambo, Michael Bwoga, Paul Omega, Jared Andwati, Rosemary Arina, Jim Abonyo, Cathy Okeya and Cecelia Obonyo. Beloved grandmother of Mary, Rebecca Ochuonyo, Allan Olum, Erick, Brenda, Edna, Esther, Gilbert Tuju, Polly, Vivian, Gilbert Olum, Dorcas Olum, Rebecca Odotte, Ronald, Nicholas, Joash, James, Timothy, Pauline, Dorcas Odhiambo, Walter, Kenneth, Phoebe, Lucy, Linda, Elisha, Duncan, late Jackson, Roselyn, Sally, Agnes, Phanuel, Margaret,Violet, Gilbert Andwati, Hellen, Elsie, Gilbert Arina, Gilbert Okeya, Maureen, Roy,Allan Abonyo and Vanita among others. She had twenty-eight great grandchildren. Loving aunt of Olum Gondi, the late Dr. Gondi, Paul Gondi, the late Okwach Gondi, Sam Gondi, Odando Gondi, Tito Gondi, Janam Gondi, Mary Odeyo, Doreen Adongo, Gondi Nyakwaka, Ndolo Nyakwaka, Moyi Nyakwaka,Tom Nyakwaka, Nyadimo Nyakwaka, Simon Nyakwaka, Amenga Nyang’un, Obuon Nyang’un, John Okanja, Amos Owinyo, Onyango Abala, late Nyiera Abala, late Agola Abala, Hongo Abala, Obonyo Odera, Osewe Odera,the late Omung’i Kowiti and the late Owuor Nyadimo among others.

The cortege leaves Aga Khan Hospital mortuary, Kisumu on Thursday 19th January at 9am for service at St. Stephens Cathedral (new site) Kisumu.

The funeral procession will then proceed to St. Peters ACK-Thim, Bondo for service followed by an overnight vigil at the home.

The funeral ceremony and burial will take place at her home in Anywongi, Bondo on Friday, 20th anuary, 2017 beginning at 10am.
