It is with humble acceptance of God’s will, that we announce the passing on of Julia Nyawira Gitau of Ruthimitu, Dagoretti which occurred on 3rd April 2021.

Daughter of the late Wairimu and Njuguna Kiguru. Wife of the late Gitau Gichuhi. A sister to many step-brothers and step-sisters. Mother of Salome Wairimu, Naomi Theuri, the late Edward Gichuhi, Mary Wanjiru (Oklahoma USA), Njuguna Gitau (California USA), the late Eliud Mbugua, Njaaga Gitau. Mother-in-law of Prof. Jesse Theuri Njoka, Elizabeth Tumpeyo Njuguna (California), Salome Wangui Mbugua and Dr. Sheila Nyakio Njaaga. Grandmother and great-grandmother to many.

The burial will take place on Monday 5th April 2021 at her farm in Kerwa, Rironi in Kiambu County.

Funeral arrangements are going on at her home in Kiriani and on WhatsApp networks.

The cortege will leave PCEA Chogoria Hospital Mortuary, on 08/04/2021 for a funeral service to be held on at PCEA Kiriani Church (Tharaka Nithi), at 10.00am.Thereafter burial will take place at the family home at Kathiru Village (Tharaka Nithi County).

Beloved husband of Mary Nyanchama and Phyllis Osebe. Son of the late Oseko Kimonwa and the late Elizabeth Nyabonyi. Loving father of the late Caroline Nyanchoka, Innocent Oseko, Terry Kemunto, Phyllis Moraa, Stella Gesare, Elizabeth Nyabonyi, Brian Oseko, Maureen Nyanchoka, Eileen Nyabonyi and Lillian Kerubo. Brother of the late Francis Ndege, Maria Njogu and Raphael Oseko.

Cherished grandfather of Tony Maige, Ralph Brinkmann, Nyambo Nyaki, Dayu Nyaki,Toccara Wesonga, Allan Kibichii, Gilbert Kibet, Brandon Onguti, Giselle Baluma, Mboni Nyaki, Ika Nyaki, Cornelio Nyamareri and Bianca Nyabonyi. Great grandfather of Consuelo Maige.

The funeral service and final interment will take place on Wednesday 7th April, 2021, at his home in Raganga, Pogusero in Mosocho Kisli County.

Mother-In-law of the late Charity, Lydia, Jason, Jane, Esther, Japhet, Raphael, Lucy, Maingi, Beatrice and Mwenda. Aunt of Japhet Nyaga, Catherine Mutegi and Prof. Ntiba, among many others.

Grandmother of Mugambi, Mwiti, Kinyua, Kiende, Mutwiri, Kelvin, Kagwiria, Jipcho, Kathambi, Mercy, Muriki, Wycliffe, Lt. K. Mwogora, Mwende, Murimi, Mumbi, Muthomi, Neema, among others. She is survived by 45 Great-grandchildren among them Makena (Chuka University), Else (Maseno University) and Happiness (Lugulu Girls). Great-great-grandmother of Gift Makena and Natasha Mwende.

Friends and relatives are meeting at her home in Kiang’ondu, and at her sons’ home at Ikuu (Gachuri) and Karurini (Kamutubu).

The cortege leaves Lampedusa Funeral Home (Chula), on Wednesday 7th April, 2021, at 8.00am, Funeral service will be held at Kiangiondu PCEA Church, 10:30am. Thereafter, her remains will be laid to rest at her home In Kiangiondu.

The cortege leaves Mater Misericordiae Hospital on Tuesday 6th April, 2021 at 6.30am for burial at her home Kambwe, Ithenguri, Corong’i, Nyeri County. Requiem Mass will be at the graveside starting at 10.00am following the Interfaith and Government protocols.

Son of the late Joel Waweru Ngugi and Loise Wanjiru Waweru. Husband of Magdalene Nyokabi Ngugi. Father of Jane Wanjiku Ngugi , Daniel Waweru Ngugi and Richard Kung’u Ngugi. Father-in-law of Lawrence Kinyanjui, Naomi Siele Waweru, Lilian Asige Aganda.

Grandfather of Xolani Kinyanjui, Taneshi Kinyanjui, Zoe Nyokabi Waweru & Elsie Netai Waweru.

Brother of Grace Nyokabi, the late Darnaris Wanja, Florence Wairimu, Fredrick Njogu, Milkah Muikamba and Felistus Wambeti.
