It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to glory of Grace Wairimu Kihiko daughter to Rev and Mrs Charles Kihiko Chege president and founder of Calvary Evangelical Church Dracut MA.

Grace Wairimu was sister to Timothy Chege Kihiko and Njuguna Kihiko.

It is our prayers that we shall do our best as pastor fellowship to help Pastor Kihiko and his family who have a great burden and don’t even know what to do as the death occurred when Rev Kihiko had travelled to Kenya for vacation together with his daughter.

Wangula Khasiani, dies of Covid-19, in the UK

The late Wangula Khasiani, passed away in a London Hospital on Saturday 25th April, 2020. Kasiani who is an accountant by profession becomes the 4th Kenyan victim of Coronavirus in UK.

Kenya community in the UK and Kenya Society are mourning the death of Mr Wangula Khasiani, who passed away in a London Hospital. He had been undergoing treatment for Covid-19.

Our deepest sympathy, thoughts and prayers are with his family. May his soul rest in peace. He is the 4th Kenyan in the UK to succumb to the Pandemic.

Kenya London News is aware of another 5 Kenyans who are currently undergoing treatment in various hospitals in England.

Without any support from anyone, Kenyans in the UK have organised themselves in various community groups to support each other. 50% of Kenyans in the Diaspora work in social and healthcare and most others working in logistics, retail etc, sectors that are still operating.  The community is aware of how vulnerable most of these are.

Adoring mother of Joseph Thinguri (formerly of Central Bank of Kenya), Bernadette Kabura (Former Principal, Gatanga C.C.M), Rose Wangari Njuguna (former Principal, Muthiga Girls), Cicilia Wanjiru (Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, Kiambu County), Mutuura PG (Principal, Kagio Secondary), Perpetual Wamoro Mwangi (Deputy Principal, Spinners and Spinners Boys), Josephine Njeri Namasaka (Advocate), Catherine Wanjiku, the late Jack Njiraini and the late John Kuria.

Sister of Esther Wamoro, Joyce Wanjiku, Ruth Njeri, Loice Njoki, Bernard Njinu, Samuel Njiraini, Esther Waithira Ngomo, the late Jackson Njiraini, the late Mwihaki Gathogo and the late John Kuria Gachanja. Mother In law of Margaret Ngina Thinguri, Caren Wanjiku Gachanja, David Mwangi Kioi, George Namasaka Sichangi (Advocate) and the late Samuel Njuguna Nyanjui. She leaves behind several grand children and great grand children.

The cortege leaves KU Funeral Home (Thika Road) on Tuesday 5/05/2020 at 9:00am for a burial service at her home at Karatu and burial thereafter at the same place.

She was the daughter of the late Dr. Jason Ndaka Kaviti and Mrs. Sarah Wavinya Kaviti. Sister to the late Frederick Ndaka and Rosemary Mbinya Kaviti of Aga Khan Hospital. Loving mother to Sheryl Wawira Gachuba. Aunty to Rita Wavinya Kaviti. Niece to the late Mueni Suti, the late Senior Chief Edward Muthami, late Mutiso, and late Jones Mutungi. She was also niece to Mr & Mrs John K. Mweu, Smith Mackenzie Mweu, Esther Keli, Susan Mbathi, Mr & Mrs Samuel W Mweu, Mary M Mweu, Cot (Rtd) Frank & Margaret Nthiga (CUEA), Brig (Rtd) Joseph BM Mweu, Mr & Mrs Henry M Mweu, among others. Father-in-law of Elizabeth Mangusa, George Ndungu,Agostino Madiavale, Newton Mwiti, Olyvia Ndinda and Christina Mull. He had 28 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

He will be laid to rest at his Farm in Yatta on 5/1/2020.

Due to the ongoing Covid- 19 crisis the burial will be limited to the number of people allowed to congregate.

Burial will be on Friday, 1st May, 2020 at her rural home of Tezo, Kilifi County from 11.00a.m.
