Elizabeth Wangui Kiai

It is with profound sadness and with humble acceptance that we announce the death of our beloved mum Elizabeth Wangui Kiai on 24/06/2017 after a long illness. She was a tailor, farmer, a community/church leader and a true friend to many.

Beloved Wife of the late Kiai Mbaki. Loving mother of John Mwangi (Bufam), Rose Njeri Gathere (NIS), Joyce Wairimu Maina, Jane Wanjiru Wambugu (The National Treasury), Charity Njoki Njiru, Anthony Kiai (jubilee MP Candidate-Mukurweini), Wilson Mugi (KBC) and Robert Maina (Nairobi). Auntie of Beth Ngechu, Gachomo, Kiaries’ of Kiambu, Wahito, John, War-10e (High Flyer), Patrick Njoroge (Eslon), Cate, Faith, Kariuki and many more. Mother-in-law of Peter Gathere Wanjau (Technical University Nairobi), J.P. Gichimu (Vision Stars School), Sabina Wathiha, Anthony Maim, Hesbon Njiru, Tabitha Wanjiru (NCCK), Racheal Njeri and Christine Muthoni (Royal Media). Sister of the late Ngechu, Gitonga, Charity, Ngari, Nguma, Njeri and others. Sister-in-law of George Mbaki,TeresiaWanjiku (Nduma), Later Gaitana Wanjiru, Late Lucy Wangui Mbora , Late Sisto Mugi and Late Esther Wakiuru. Grandmother of Stella, Betty, Junior, Nyambura, Beths’, Esther,Eric, Njeris’, Wangui, Anita, Timon, Myles, Sarah, Wanjau, Micheal, Oscar, Martin, Eddie,Willy, Hannah,Vicky, Same, Kiais’,Wamuyu, Kevin,Lydia, and Munene.

Friends and relatives are meeting for burial plans at Abbey Hotel, Gaberone Road, (Opposite Minch Dishes Restaurant) off Luthuli Avenue from 6.00 p.m everyday from 27/06/2017 to 30/06/2017.-There will be a fund raising event on Thursday 29/06/2017 to offset hospital and funeral bills. Meetings will also be held at Hon Kiai’s Mukurweini office opposite Muhito Pry School and at her Mugono home every day.

The cortege leaves KU Funeral Home on Saturday 0I/07/2017 at 8.00 a.m. for a funeral service at Gikondi Secondary School grounds in Mukurweini. Thereafter burial will take place at her Mugono farm at Gikondi in Mukurweini m Nyeri County.
