George Mbugua Kamaara

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of George Mbugua Kamaara (formerly of the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development KICD) Nairobi after a short illness.

He hails from Muthiga in Kinoo location, Kikuyu sub-county, Kiambu County.

Son of the late Stephen Mwaura Kamaara and Anne Nduta Mwaura Kamaara of Ngemwa in Ikinu Location, Githunguri sub county in Kiambu County.

Husband of the late Alice Nyokabi Mbugua and Jane Mukuhi. Father of Anne Nduta and Leonard Ogoya, Rhoda Nyambura and Samuel Njoroge, Hellen Waithera and Bryan Mwangi and Josephine Wanjiru Mbugua. Doting grandpa Shirlyn and Jauden Ogoya, Naima and Neema Njoroge and Shawn Mwangi.

Brother of Donald Kamaara of Ngemwa, Patterson and Ruth Muturi, Amos and Sarah Leshinka of Narok, Anne Njoroge and the late Kenneth Chege, Francis and Eunice Kamaara Karanja of Eldoret. Adoring uncle of Ndutas, Mwauras, Njerim Chege, Ken, Guantai, Didi, Sempeyia, Wanjiku, Serah, Mugure, Wambui, Kamiri, Wanja, Wairimu, Dan, John and Muthoni. Cousin of Thiong’os, Kamaaras, Mburus, Ndung’us, Wambaas, Toromes, Regerus and Gichurus.

Prayers are being held every day at his home in Muthiga and Ngemwa. Relatives and friends will meet on Friday 20^th January at PCEA St Andrews Church Nairobi from 5pm for funeral arrangements.

The cortege leaves Kenyatta University Mortuary on Tuesday 24^th Janaury at 8am. Funeral service and burial will be held at the family home in Ngemwa, Githunguri sub-county, Kiambu County starting at 11am.
