Leah Wanjiru Ngunyi Kihara

22nd Dec 1949 – 20th May 2017  It is with profound sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will, that we announce the sudden demise of Mrs. .Leah Wanjiru Ngunyi Kihara (formerly of NCC), which occurred on Saturday 20th May 2017 following a tragic car accident along Sagana-Karatina Road.
Daughter of the late Nehemiah Murage Muriuki and the late Phoebe Wamuyu of Tumu Tumu, Mathira Constituency. Beloved wife of the late Major (Rtd) James Ngunyi Kihara. Cherished mother of the late Esther Konyu, Jane Nyawira, Peter Kihara, Anne Ngunyi, Rose Mumbi, Carol Ngunyi-Kathurima, Jackson Murage and Susan Ngunyi. Mother-in-law of Janet Murugi and the late Capt. Edward Kinyua. Sister of the late Nahashon Kariuki and Alice Muthoni, the late Joseph Mwai and Eunice Wacera, John Githaiga, Catherine and Julia Githaiga, the late Peris Mumbi, the late Hellen Nyaguthii, Julius Mwema, the late Ephantus Gatimu and Agnes Njeri and David & Mercy Ng’ang’a. Sister-in-law of the late James & Hannah Gathondu, the late James Mwenje and Grace Mwenje, Jeremiah & Purity Kahia, Simon & Susan Mwangi, Capt W.P. Kihara & Grace Sagina Kihara, Daniel & Millicent  Sambu,Agnes Njoki and the late Douglas Wachira & Catherine Wambui. Adoring and doting grandmother of Michelle, Jerome, Angel,Theo, David-James, Jonathan, Sean,Asher-Jayden among others. Beloved Aunty and cousin of many. Friends and family are meeting daily at the All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi from 23rd to 26th May, between 5-8pm and at the Karogoto home daily from 24th May at 3pm for prayers and burial arrangements.
