Husband of Jane Njeri Mwaniki. Father of Edwin Gitau, Pauline Waithera, Martin Kamau, Julie Wanjiru, Joshua Karuru. Father-in-law of Felista Muthoni, Mindi Mutheu, Octavia Muthoni. Brother of the late Pithon Maina. Brother-in-law of Joyce Wanja Maina. Uncle of Patrick Kamau, James Kimani, Samuel Nyoike, Peter Mwaniki, Juliet Wanjiru. Grandfather of Jane, Joseph, Livingstone, Yvonne, Michael Liv, Faith, Joshua Kiki, Mathew and Matea.

Family and friends are meeting daily at his home Riverside Estate Thika next to Naidu Hospital for prayers and funeral arrangements from 7pm. The cortege will leave Kenyatta University Funeral Home — KU on Wednesday 21st of December 2016 at 7am to Ndaka-ini for funeral and burial services.
