Mwalimu John Irungu Kanyi (Wamunjiru)

With humble acceptance of God’s will, we announce the demise of retired teacher Mwalimu John Irungu Kanyi of Gakira Village, Kiria Sub-location, Mugoiri Murang’a County.

Son of the late Geoffrey Kani and late Joyce Munjiru. Husband of Mary Magiri Irungu. Son-in-law of the late Nathaniel Githae and late Susan Njoki. Father of Edwin Mwangi, Winfred Muthoni, Susan Kabura and Kellen Njeri. Grandfather of Joy Makena, Bridget Gathiru, Brandon Irungu and Claire Mutendwa. Brother of Mary Njeri, Ruth Wangari and late Virginia Nyambura, Late Emilly Mweru and late Solomon Wanjii all of Kiumba Village- Mugoiri.

Father-in-law of Lenson Muchangi Njagi and Winfred Wangari Mwangi. Brother-in-law of Gichuki and others.

Family and friends are meeting daily at his home in Ngaru Kiria Sub-location, at Githunguri Ruai and at Kwa Wamutuura Restaurant, Ruiru Bypass/Kangundo Road junction from 5.00pm for prayers and funeral arrangements.

The cortege leaves Kenyatta University Mortuary at 8.00am on Tuesday 16th May, 2017 for funeral service and burial at his home in Gakira Kiria Mugoiri, Murang’a County from 11.
