It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Nicasio Gichuki Mundia (Retired Banker, Barclays Bank — ABSA), who departed this life on Saturday, 25th April 2026.

Son of the late Ephantus Mundia Muraguri and Mary Wamuyu Mundia, and beloved husband of Leah Wanjiku Gitahi.

A devoted father of Ephantus Mundia Gichuki (KCB Bank — Central Region), Mary Wamuyu Gichuki (Karumo T.T.I, Meru), Gerald Gitahi Gichuki (KWS Headquarters), and Peter Muraguri Gichuki (Ngurumo JS Karatina).

Son-in-law of Gerald Gitahi Ndonga and Rahab Wangeci Gitahi, and father-in-law of Katerina, Janet, Mathew, Mercy, and Mary Anne.

A loving grandfather of Leah Wanjiku Mundia, Mary Wangari Mundia, Nicasio Gichuki Mundia, Sylvia Wanjiku Mburu, Psalms Mwaura Mburu, Leah Wanjiku Gitahi, and Nicasio Gichuki Gitahi.

Brother of Peter Muraguri Mundia, Jane Wangui Mundia, James Kariuki Mundia, Dr. John Gachanja Mundia, and Margaret Wairuri Mundia. Brother-in-law of Dr. James Njuguna Mwangi,Teresia Njeri Kariuki, Regina Wangeci Gachanja, foram Ndirangu, David Ndonga, Beatrice Wangari, Susan Mumbi, Eunice Wandia, Joseph Mathenge, Charles Ndungu, John Njure, Jane Wangui, Ann Nyakinyua, and Paul Ndigiri. Beloved cousin and loving uncle to many.

Daily meetings are being held at the family residence in Baraka Estate, Kamakwa, Nyeri, at 4:00pm.

A requiem mass will be held at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Parish, Kamakwa on Wednesday at 4.00pm.

The cortege will depart from Nyeri Funeral Home (Outspan) at 08.00am on Friday, 1st May 2026, followed by Mass at Kamakwa Catholic Parish at 8.30am.The Burial will be on the same day at the family farm in Ruirii Division, Kieni West, Nyeri County (along Nyeri—Nyahururu Road).
