Obadiah Kuira Bunyi (OKB)

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Obadiah Kuira Bunyi (OKB) (Impala Hotel) who was promoted to glory on 19th December 2016.

Son of the late Bunyi Nduati and the late Leah Gaciku Bunyi of Ting’ang’a. Husband of Professor Grace Wangari Bunyi (Kenyatta University).

Son-in-law of the late Nahason Gatome Mbogo and the late Rahab Nyambura Mbogo of Lari.

Father of Robert Bunyi, Mark Thiong’o Bunyi, Edward Nduati Bunyi and Mbogo Bunyi.

Father-in-law of Naomi Bunyi, Janet Thiong’o and Wangechi Mbogo. Brother of Grace Thuku (Kangemi), Esther Njathi (Githumu), the late Samuel Wanyoike, George Nduati, Peter Munene and the late Hannah Nyokabi all of Ting’ang’a. Brother-in-law of Francis Thuku, Michael Njathi, Agnes Wanjiru Munene, James Mbogo, the late Beth Mbogo, Ann Wachira, Frederick Mburu, David Njoroge, Charles Mbogo, Lucy Chege, Nancy Njenga, Sophie Njuguna and the late Arthur Mwangi. Uncle of Leah Wanjiku, Moses Bunyi, Leah Nduati, Leah Munene, Thiong’o Mbogo, Caroline Mbogo, Michael Wachira, Catherine Mburu, Muthoni Njoroge, Thiong’o Muigai, Eric Chege, John Njenga, Nyambura Ndung’u, Rahab Mwangi among others. Grandfather of Martin Kuira, Eugene Ngamini, Joel Thiong’o, Olivia Wangari, Jessica Mugure, Manuel Kuira, Zoe Wangari and Matteo Kuira.

Family and friends are meeting daily, from 6:30pm, for prayers and funeral arrangements at the family home on May East Road off Lang’ata South Road, Karen and in Ting’ang’a at his late mother’s home from 4pm.

The cortege leaves Lee Funeral Home on Friday 23rd December 2016, at 8am, for a funeral service at Ting’ang’a PCEA Church, Kiambu, from 10:30am and burial at his home in Ting’ang’a, Kagongo village, Kiambu County.
