Peter Kimani Gakera

It with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Peter Kimani Gakera, which occurred on 14th July 2026 through a tragic road accident.

He was a beloved son of the late Fr. John Gakera Kimani and the late Leah Njeri Gakera.

He was a beloved husband of Jane Nyambura Kimani (formerly of Ngenia High School), a loving father of Eva Njeri Kimani, John Gakera Kimani (WRA) and Lucy Waithera Gakera and Lydia Mugure Kimani. He was a doting grandfather of Peter, Stephanie and Gabriella.

He was brother of Mary and Philip Mugwira, Florence and Samuel Thang’wa, Naftaly and Alice Ngugi, Jane Njoki, Miriam and Nicholas Ndungu, Hannah and John Kabiru and an uncle of many.

He was a Son in Law of the late Jeremiah Njuguna Waigi, the Late Lydia Mugure and Regina Nyambura. He was a brother-in-law of Charles Waigi (Jeremy),Andrew Nyingi, Peter Koigi, Hannah Wanjiku, Leah Njeri, Michael Kimani, the late Mary Ngubia, the late Robert Wachira, the late David Waigi and the late Margaret Njuguna.

Family and friends are meeting daily at their home in Rironi, Limuru from 4pm.

The cortege will leave Uphome Funeral Home on Wednesday, 22/7/2026 at 9:00am for a funeral mass at St Andrews Catholic Church, Rironi Limuru from 11am and thereafter interment at Arironis next to Rubis Petrol Station Arironis.
