Pius Antony Lenya Ogutu (PALO), formerly manager with Stanchart Bank – Eldoret and National
Bank – Nairobi, went to be with the Lord on 27th November 2009. Son of the late Mzee Patrick
Ogutu Oyeho and the late Mama Gaudencia Oduong’ and Katharina Apondi of Alego Kalenyjuok,
Boro Division, Siaya District. Beloved husband of Emma Joan Achieng Ogutu of Moi Girls’ High
School – Eldoret. Father of Sheila Akinyi (Stanchart Bank – Kisumu), Jasmine Akinyi (KCB
– Nairobi), Norbert Onyango (Junior) – formerly of Kenyatta University, Jennifer Adhiambo
(formerly of Maseno University) and Louisa Anyango (Strathmore University). Brother of Paul
Owino, Anjeline Akoth, Consolata Amolo, late Maurice Odhiambo, late Martin Otieno, stepbrother
of the late Joseph, William, George and Ooko. Nephew of Tito Osanya and Polo Otuka,
among others. Son-in-law of Mzee Elisha Sika and Mama Mary Sika of Gem Anyiko. Brother-in-law
of Erick Sika, Phillip Sika, late Andrew, Steve, Pamela Okoth, late Simon, Duncan, Joseph and late
Margaret Onyango, among others. Uncle of the late Leonida, Nelly, Rose, Felix, Grace, Mercy and
Rose, among others. Family and friends are meeting daily from 6 p.m. at his residence in Upper
Elgon View – Eldoret. A major funds drive will take place on Wednesday 2nd December 2009 at
his Eldoret residence and at St. Paul’s University Chapel Hall, Nairobi both starting at 6 p.m. to
offset hospital bills and funeral expenses. Contributions may also be sent to Mrs. Ogutu
by MPESA through 0728 – 342 071. The cortege leaves Moi Teaching & Referral Hospital
Mortuary, Eldoret on Thursday, 3rd December 2009 at 1.30 p.m. for a requiem mass at the Sacred
Heart Cathedral – Eldoret at 2.00 p.m. followed by an overnight vigil at his residence. The cortege
will thereafter leave for his Awelo home in Siaya town on Friday, 4th December 2009. Burial takes
place on Saturday, 5th December 2009 at the same place – Awelo, Siaya town.
