23rd May 1945-24th April 2017     We thank the Almighty God for giving us 72 years of a wonderful and great man.Words are not sufficient to express our gratitude to all who supported us celebrate his life and give him a hero’s send off.Your love and kindness was evident. Your presence at the funeral home, at the requiem mass at Our Lady of Mount Kenya Benedictine Monastery and at his home for the final rites was a great honour to our family. We thank you for being part of the final journey of this great man.
As it is not possible to thank by name each one of you who was by our side, allow us to single out a few as a representation of all. We say a big thank you to the Benedictine Monastery, led by the Head of the Missionary Benedictine Monks in Kenya, Most Rev. Fr. Prior John Baptist Oese lmai OSB, Br. Andrew Otedo OSB, Sub-prior, The director of The Bible On The Ground, Nanyuki monastery, Fr. Joseph 0. Mong’eri OSB, Fr. James Keraithe OSB, Fr. Gabriel Kinoti OSB, Br. Stephen lmbiakha OSB, Br. Simon Peter OSB, Br. Francis Gumbao OSB, Br. Charles Lwanga OSB and Fr Joseph Tumaini for celebrating holy mass daily at his home and presiding over the requiem mass. The family was greatly honoured by Fr. Martin Ndegwa, St. Teresa’s Parish Nanyuki, Fr George Mungai of Our Lady of Rosary Catholic Church Ridgeways Nairobi, Fr. Clement Gichinga of St. Patrick Catholic Church Thika and Deacon Mumo, of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church Ridgeways Nairobi for gracing the requiem mass in Nanyuki. We thank you most graciously.
To the Doctors who attended to Solomon over the years led by Dr. Mwongera, Dr. Obiro, Prof Ngugi, Dr. Kebatta, Dr. Charles Kariuki, Dr. Munene, Dr. Nderitu, Dr. Wambugu and nurses at the Renal units of Nairobi Hospital, Nyeri Teaching and Referral Hospital, Mathari Hospital, Central Renal Dialysis and Kiirwa Hospital; and the workers at the Nanyuki Teaching and Referral Hospital Funeral Home, we are proud of your diligence and dedication in attending to Dad. We thank you most graciously.
To the various groups that supported the family during this time including; the Christians, St Augustine and St Joseph Small Christian Community of the Benedictine Monastery; Mary Immaculate Sisters, Christ the King Catholic Church Nanyuki; CMA, CWA and St. Joseph the Worker Small Christian Community of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, Ridgeways Nairobi; St Dorcas Women Group; Jubilee Women Group; Emmanuel Women Group; New Dawn Women Group; Muthaiga Community; Hazina Investments Ltd and LAPSSET Board please accept our heartfelt gratitude. For the team that managed the live streaming of the event to family and friends in the USA, we thank you very much indeed. To Nanyuki High School and Moi Equator Girls Secondary School, we thank you for providing us with transport.To all other service providers we thank you for your excellent service and commitment. To the funeral committee in Nanyuki led by Mr. Kingori your commitment and support ensured a befitting and dignified send off for our dear Dad.Thank you very much. To our family, relatives and friends who visited, offered material and emotional support, called and sent text messages to encourage us, we thank you most profoundly. May the Almighty God bless you.
