There are some people who come into our lives and never even make an impact, while there are others who are ‘loaned’ to us for just a season but the footprints they leave on our lives and our hearts are impossible to erase.

Fidel, you were such a person. Your soul shone through with an inner light that brightened up even the darkest hour. Your presence created a calmness and assurance that we had never known then nor will ever experience again.

Even though we know you are not gone from us spiritually, your physical absence leaves a void nothing else can fill. You were a true son, brother, father, husband and friend. And as we remember you this year on the day of your passing, we no longer mourn, weep or wail. For we know that thanks to your pure heart, we will meet again.

Your amazing life was a blessing to us. The memory of your deeds a treasure. Your passing left a void beyond words. And your absence a pain beyond measure.

Forever in our hearts Fidel… till we meet again.
