Loving father of Gentylyne (MCSPA), the late Godfrey, Martha, Raphael, Elias (TripleOKlaw LLP Advocates), Titus, PrudenceAnne, Claire, the late Feminis, Veronica, Abigail and Victor. Father in law to Patrick (MCSPA), Joseph and Gloria (Kenya Pipeline).

The cortege leaves Cherangany Nursing Home, Kitale on Wednesday, 11th January, 2017 for funeral mass and burial to be held on his farm at Kabula along Bungoma-Mumias Road on Friday, 13th January, 2017 from 10:00 am.

Daughter of the late Njiru wa Ngonjo and Wangithi wa Nag wa Kaguara_ Wife of the late Ethan Karuri Kirungu. Sister of Michael Mugo, Esther Wawira Kagiri and the late Alice Muthoni Gacoki. Mother of Professor Edward Karuri (University of Nairobi) and Margaret Karuri, Dr. Richard Ndubai (Director -General, National Youth Service),Winfred Ndubai, the late Isaac and Cicily Ndun’gu, Njagi and Winnie Kagane, Simon and Carol Mugo. Julius and Janerose Karuri, Samson Mbui, David and Lucy Murigo. In-law of the late Mr and Mrs Ngunju, Mr and Mrs S. Njiraini, Nathaniel and Miriam Kiarii, Nahashon and Monica Kagane, Francis and Naomi Muriithi, Raphael and Catherine Mwangi, and Rahab Wambui Mwangi. Jane is survived by 24 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Friends and relatives are meeting at her Kutus residence every evening.

The cortege will leave Kenyatta University Funeral Home on Friday 13th January 2017 for the funeral service at the St. Paul’s ACK Church, Kutus and later the burial at her son’s farm, Kagaari — Weru in Embu County the same day.

Mum, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, we loved you dearly; the Almighty God evidently loved you more. In his mighty hands you now rest. In our hearts, you will dwell forever.

Jane was the first child of retired Elder Beatrice Wahu Maara of PCEA Macedonia Church, Ongata Rongai. She was a sister of George Maara, Jennifer Kamau, Grace Wambui and Margaret Authier. Sister-in-law of Joseph Kamau Kanyanga, Robert Authier and Margaret Maara. Mother of Lillian Wahu Gathimba, Stephen Muriuki and Faith Wathere. Mother-in-law of Evans Gathimba and Lorna Muriuki. Grandmother of Gakonyo Gathimba, Maara Gathimba and Maara Muriuki. Niece of Grace Wambui Wangai and Lennah Wairimu Maara, a cousin and aunt of many.
Family and friends are meeting for prayers at 5pm daily at her home, Rimpa Estate, Ongata Rongai and at PCEA St. Andrews Church, Nairobi at 5.30pm on Wednesday and Thursday.The cortege leaves Umash Funeral ,Home at 8.30am on Friday 13th January 2017 for a funeral service at PCEA Mother Church, Ngecha – Limuru at 10.00am.Thereafter, the body will be laid to ‘rest at the family cemetery in Ngecha, Limuru.
