Christopher Maina Waruru

 Death has occurred of Christopher Maina Waruru (formerly of KCB and GT Bank). Son of the late Geoffrey Waruru and the late Esther Wangu. Husband of Anne Nkatha Maina (Friends Women Development Programme). Father of Belinda Wangu Muendo (General Electric) & Peter Mutitwa Muendo (Hitachi Data Systems), Dr Catherine Mwendwa Maina (Lords Healthcare), Grace Nyawira Maina (UoN – School of Pharmacy) and Sam Waruru Maina (JKUAT – School of Engineering).

Grandfather of Mark, Gabriel and Abigail. Brother of Bernard Kairu (KARLO), Bernie Gachanja (USA), the late Peter Maina and the late Geoffrey Githinji, uncle and friend to many.

Meetings are being held daily at the family home in Greenfields Estate, Nairobi, and at PCEA St Andrews Church, Nairobi, (except Saturday and Monday) from 5.30pm.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Sunday 29th January at Lang’ata Cemetery at 11am on Tuesday 31st January.

Wife of Peter Elkana Agolla (former Paramount Chief & Luo elder of Kanyikela, Homa Bay County). Daughter of the late freedom fighter Daniel Ojijo Oteko (Karachuonyo) & the late Mama Wilkister Akong’o. Beloved mother of the late William Ojijo, George Agolla (KenGen), the late Lorna Atieno, Phoebe Auma & Lynette Adhiambo. Sister of Phoebe, Turphosa, Siprose, late Ernesti, Hamisi & Ojwang. Mother-in-law of Christine Agolla, Samwel Obuor, the late Charles Odette and the late Andrew Otieno. Step-mother of Polycarp, Steve, Agnes & Erick. Grandmother of Josephine, Vera, Joseph & Winnie Ojijo, Sylvia, Juliet, Edwina, Eric, Mary, Francis, Collins, Phillip, Beryl, Omondidune, Marsden, Rawlings, Emily, Fred among others. Great grandmother of Carl K’Oteko (CJ), Chebet, Dylan, Erica, Dalia among others. Sister, aunt and beloved friend of many.

Friends and relatives are meeting at home in Thuon Gweno, Ndhiwa, Homa Bay County daily for prayers and funeral arrangements.

John Nyai Kariuki

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the demise of John Nyanjui Kariuki, Director of Jorech Automotors and a member of PCEA Kahawa Sukari Church.

Son of the late Eustace Kariuki and Eunice Wairimu of Gituru Village, Husband of Rachael Nyanjui, Father of Kenneth Kariuki and Emily Wairimu.

Family and friends are meeting daily at his residence in Kahawa Sukari, Kericho Road, off Fourth North Avenue.

Beloved son of Samuel Mbatia Gicheru and Eunice Wanjiku Mbatia of Ongata Rongai. Father of Diana Wanjiku Gicheru. Loving brother of the late Virginia Wanjiru, Kevin Njuguna (USA), the late Naomi Murugi, David Karanja and John Ng’aru (USA). Kenneth Kinuthia Kairu

1914 – 20/1/2017

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Mzee Kenneth Kinuthia Kairu at Aga Khan hospital Nairobi on the 20th January 2017, at a blessed age of 103 years. He hailed from Kamuchege location, Lari Division, Kiambu County. Beloved husband of the late Naomi Warigo, whom he married in 1942.

Mzee Kenneth and the late Naomi were blessed with six children; Joyce Wambui, Salome Wanjiru, Julius Kairu, the late Kariuki Kinuthia, Grace Wairimu and Ruth Njeri. Father-in-love of Dorcas Wanjiru, Salome Njoki and the late Ng’ang’a Itotia. Cherished grandfather of 35 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

Brother of the late Njoroge Kairu, late Appolo Kihanya, late Elizaphanson Wanguna late Wairimu Kairu and many step-brothers and sisters.

Relatives and friends are meeting daily for worship services and burial arrangements at the late Kariuki Kinuthia’s home in Ridgeways and his Kamuchege home from 5.00pm.

The cortege leaves Kenyatta University mortuary on 27th January 2017 at 8.00am for burial at his Kamuchege home starting from 11.00am.The funeral service will be conducted at Naomi Warigo Kinuthia PCEA Memorial Church.

Sister-in-law of the late Teresa Onyancha, Josephine Nabagala, Marita Kenyaga, Sabina Moraa, late Teresia Nyabate, Daniel Ombasa among others. Aunty of Hon. Charles Onyancha, Mary Makori, Fred (Bungoma). Irene Ogoti and many others. Niece of Michael Nyagisera, Paustina Mankinda, late Snr. Chief Andrea Mokaya, Joseph Mitunda, Nyaribo and Nyakeirura. Funeral arrangements are being held at Her residence in Mwembe Tayari Kisii. The cortege will leave Christamarian Hospital-Kisii on 26th Jan 2017 for an overnight vigil at home in Bogiakumu location Nyauno village, Bonchari Kisii. The funeral will be held on Friday 27/01/2017 at her family’ home in Nyauno Village, Bogiakumu, Bonchari, Kisii South District.
