She went to be with the Lord on 07/01/2017. Daughter of the late Wilson and the late Marsela Ogina of Seme Kakelo. Co-wife of the late Meresia, Christina, Teresa, Helena and Jane. Other co-wives are Silibia, Maria and Patricia. Mother of Ombwa Kadero, Bishop Jacktone Kadero, Julia Obunga, Jenipher Abwao, Joan Otieno, George Kadero, William Kadero, Margret, Janet, Linet, Tobias, Mary, Wycliffe, Arwa, Okinyi, Agnes, Anyango, Jane, Judith and Hellen. Mother in-law of Jael, George Abwao, George Ombogo, Mary, Carol, the late Nora Kadero and late Maurice Obunga. Sister of Yunia Asewe Obuya, Hezekiah Otuge Ogina, Josiah Nyawara Ogina, Peres Akinyi Bonga, the late Henry Otunga Ogina, late Samwel Ayieko Ogina and late Milicent Atieno Ayieko. She has left behind 28 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

The body is lying at Port Florence Community Hospital Mortuary, Kisumu. The cortege leaves the mortuary on 21st January 2017 to her final resting place, Nyatigo village. The burial will take place on 22nd January, 2017.

She hails from Ndutoni Village, Masokani sub location, Mumela Location, Kasikeu Division, Makueni County. She was a teacher at Kwambumbu.

She was a teacher at Kwambumbu Primary School. Beloved wife of Simon Muthiani Tama (Retired AEO).

Daughter to the late Charles Nguta Mbai and late Rhoda Nguta of Wautu Village. Daughter-in-law of the late Micheal Muumbi and late Kalewa Muumbi of Masokani sub-location. Mother of Naomi Ndinda (Lam), Benjamin Lumbu (Nakuru), Mirriam Muthoki, Zipporah Nduku, Gloria Mumo, Caroline Mutheu, Angela Mbithe and Daniel Muumbi. Grand Mother to Sharon, Gift, Felix, Wilberfoce, Tracy and Precious. Sister of David Mbai, Regina Ngundo, John Nguta, Benjamin, Late James, Samson, Joseph, Late Kanini, Joshua, Late Mirriam Mueni, Jonathan and Daniel. Mwalimu Nancy Wangui Kariuki transited to eternal glory in the early minutes of Saturday, 14th January 2017.

While in this life she loved, nurtured, taught, farmed, mentored and encouraged others.

Born of her parents the late Jasmiel Kahiu and Josephine Wanjiku, she was blessed with a husband David Kariuki Macharia and children Judy Wambui, Dorothy Wanjiku, Edwin Macharia and Richard Kahru; Grandchildren Lavenda Ondisa, Doreen Wangui, Anaya Migwi and Amira Muthoni; siblings Mugo, Nyawira, Njeri, Wanjiru, Wacaru, Wacera and Mwangi and in-laws Allan, Charles and Joyce.

Her body will be removed from Kenyatta University funeral home on Friday, 20th January 2017 at 0800 Hrs for a funeral mass at A.C.K. St. Paul Kibuu at 1100Hrs followed by interment at their home in Geitwa, Gaturi in Murang’a County.

We are grateful to God for the gift in you and which we shared for the years you lived amongst us. May His Name be glorified.

The cortege leaves Kenyatta University Funeral Home on Saturday 21st January 2017 at 8am for a funeral and burial service at their Kandara Home.

Brother of Cecilia Wambui, Wilfred Thuo, David Mbugua and Francis Kigotho. Grandfather of 55 grandchildren and great grandfather of 14.

Maureen Omondi

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the demise of Maureen Omondi which occurred on 10th December 2016 in Bristol, UK.

Second born daughter of Paul Omondi Mbago and Janet Atieno Omondi of Ugenya Siaya County. Sister of Elizabeth Awuor Omondi (USA). Grand daughter of the late Camilus and Rosa Mbago and the late Gideon and Roselida Musumba. Niece of the late Gabriel, Carlos, Prof Peter Wanyande (UoN), Joster, Pius, Steve, Isaac, Fredrick, Rita Onyango (Nairobi Primary) among others. Cousin of many.

There will be a fundraising for funeral expenses on Wednesday 18th January 2017 at Lavington, Kunde Road, House #5 residence of Paul Mbago from 5pm.

The funeral service will be on Saturday 21st January at Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home Chapel at noon, and burial will take place at Lang’ata Cemetery at 2pm.

Husband of Josephine Karega. Father of Anne, Felistah and Esther. Brother of Dr Kinoti Arimi of Medipharrn East Africa, the late Leonard Kithinii, Aloise Mbabu, Paul Karani, Linus Mutwiri, Christine Nkirote. Frida Kiende and Rosemary Kinya.

Friends and relatives are meeting at St Andrews Church, Nairobi, on Tuesday 17th, Wednesday 18th and 19th Thursday 2017 from 5.30pm to 7.00pm.

The burial will take place on Saturday 21st January 2017 at Nkandone South Village, South Imenti, Meru County.

The funeral procession will then proceed to St. Peters ACK-Thim, Bondo for service followed by an overnight vigil at the home.

The funeral ceremony and burial will take place at her home in Anywongi, Bondo on Friday, 20th anuary, 2017 beginning at 10am.

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of James M. Mutuku, which occurred on 13th January 2017 through a tragic accident along Mombasa-Nairobi Highway near Athi-River. He was also a proprietor of Tuke Auto Care, Wote Town, Makueni.

Son of the late Mutuku Musava and the late Mary Muia Mutuku. Beloved husband of Jennifer Kanini. Doting father of Maureen Mumbua (University of Nairobi) and Noella Ndunge. Brother of the late Alex Mutisya, Onesmus Kilonzo (teacher Kaunguni Primary), Fredrick Ngei, the late Mbulwa Maswili, Regina Kalondu, Mwikali Kilula, Nzeli Nzingu and Joyce Kasiva Waema. Uncle of Dominic Katumo, Maswili Kyalo Kilula, Kyende Mutua, Muema Nzingu, Joshua Mutua Waema, Stephen Mutuku Kilonzo (KU), Mwendwa Ngei among others.
