It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to glory of Mr. Bernard Ruhiu Gitari.

Son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Paul Gitari Kamau and son-in-law of the late Mr. & Mrs. Samuel Gitimu.

Beloved husband of Mrs Margaret Ng’endo Ruhiu. Doting father of Tom and Ruth Gitari, Samuel and Lydia Gitimu, Patrick and Anne Kamau, Maryann & Martin Mwaura. A loving grandfather to many.

Brother of the late Anne and Stephen Thang’wa, Elizabeth Magiri, the late Patrick Kamau, Bernadette Gitari, Lady Justice Lucy Gitari, James Chege, Regina and Macharia Kagiri, and William and Veronica Wanjie.

Cousin and uncle to many.

Family and Friends are meeting at his son’s residence at Mugumo, Kamiti Road from 4pm.

A memorial service will be held at Gothoka Village, Karia in Kiambu County on Monday 27th July 2026 from 3pm.

The cortege will leave K.u Referral Funeral Home (Bypass) on Thursday 30th July 2026 at 7am. Funeral service will be held at Sacred Heart Karia Catholic Church (Githareini) Gothoka, Karia, Kiambu County starting from 10am. This will be followed by interment at the Family graveside at Gothoka Village.
