Cornelia Wanjiru Matteo

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to glory of our mother Cornelia Wanjiru Matteo, which occurred on Wednesday 21″ June after a long illness.

Beloved daughter of the late Mateo Ng’enda and the late Sophia Kirigo Ng’enda.

Mother of Sophia Kirigo Kayanda (Kiamuri School, Murang’a), Matthew Ng’enda (The Wood Foundation Africa and formerly KTDA), Dominic Makara (KTDA Njunu), Mary Wangari Wamae (Equity Bank), Edward Theuri (UN, Geneva) and Edwin Kibaara (KP Contractor, Nakuru).

Sister of the late Mary Wangari Maimba, late Dominic Makara, late Edward Theuri, late Elemenjildo Kibaara, late Macherino Nderitu and Kadita Nyokabi.

Mother-in-law of Elias Kayanda, Mary Ng’enda, Vivian Makara, Dr. Wamae Maranga, Schola Theuri and Mercy Kibaara.

Aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother to many.

Prayers will be held daily from 5.30pm at Kongu-ini, Murang’a, Karen residence and her home in Mununga-ini, Nyeri County, beginning Friday 23rd June to Wednesday 28th June 2017.

There will also be prayers at All Saint’s Cathedral, Nairobi, from Monday 26th June 2017 to Wednesday 28th June 2017 at 5.30pm daily.

A requiem mass will be held at the Shrine of Mary, Don Bosco Church, Upperhill on Thursday 29th June, 2017 at 12noon.

The cortege leaves Lee Funeral Home on 30th June, 2017 at 7am for the funeral service at Tetu Boys’ Primary School Ground Mununga-ini, Nyeri County at 11am.

Thereafter the burial will take place at her farm next to the school.
