I work as Administrative Assistant at IGAD Climate Prediction and Application Centre (ICPAC) our offices are within the same building with WMO offices.

It is with deep sorrow that we learnt of his untimely death. Dr Elijah was and did not behave like a boss but a colleague, very polite, understanding and very approachable. He greeted anybody right from the security man at the gate to any other person he came across. He was very humble, God fearing and a mentor.
I personally have been unable to understand whether it was God’s will or if there was something that could have been done save his life not to leave FOREVER, BUT A LITTLE LONGER. Since nothing takes God by surprise, my sincere prayers and condolences to his dear wife Maria an his beloved children. May the Almighty God give you the strength, grace to endure in this trying moments. The gap can only be filled by God. From God we came to Him we return, may his name be Glorified.
