Dr. James Maneno

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the death of our beloved Dr James
Maneno. He died on Thursday, 18th August 2016 at the Mombasa Hospital.
Loving Husband of Mama Betty Kabibi Maneno (formerly Min. of Education and Commissioner
TSC). Adorable Father of Dr. Mary Maneno-Awuonda, Howard University College of Pharmacy
(USA) and grandfather of Paul Awuonda. Father In law of Thomas Awuonda (USA). Son of the late
J.J. Maneno and the late Mama Mary N’kutawala Maneno.
Loving Brother of the late Winnie Jamungu, S.S. Maneno (formerly Principal Kenyatta Mwatate,
Alliance & Lenana Sch), late Margaret Chisinyo, Dr. Robert Maneno (Pwani University), Joshua
Maneno (TUM), Simeon Maneno (Min. of Labour), Alice Adawo (Migori), Patience Ndombi (NTTI ).
In law of the Awuondas of Kano, the late Salome, Marcella, Hope & Margaret, Bishop Adawo and
Dr. Ndombi; the Mkuzis-Mazeras, the Salimus-Mariakani, the Mashas, Mrambas, Kidungas, Kagohus,
Kacharos, Fondos – Kaloleni, Giriama. Uncle of Joseph, Caroline, John (ET), Eng. Masha (KPA); Cousin
of the Zanis, Ramtus, Taabus, Mwamanenos among many others and babuu of many.
Family and friends are meeting daily at 5:30pm at Pandya Memorial Hospital grounds, Mombasa and
All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi. The Main funds drive to defray medical expenses will be held at same
venues on Wednesday, 24th August 2016, 5.30 p.m.
The cortege leaves Pandya Memorial Hospital Mortuary, Mombasa on Friday, 26th August 2016
at 11am for a Memorial service at St. Stephens ACK Church Vyongwani, Kwale at 1pm,
thereafter proceed for an overnight vigil at his father’s home-Vyongwani. The funeral and burial
service will be held on Saturday, 27th August 2016 starting at 09:00 a.m. at his father’s home-
