It is with deep sorrow & humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of our beloved Mum, retired teacher Euphemia Nekesa Simiyu on 5th of January 2017. Beloved wife of Mathias Simiyu. Daughter of the late Sylverious Wapopa and the late Teresina Nakhumicha. Daughter-in-law of the late Wahanda and the late Eremina. Mother of Evalyn Nafula Omondi, Michael Simiyu & Stephen Simiyu. Sister of the late Charles Juma Wapopa, Dr.Titus Matere Sisenda, the late Isaac Wafula, Caroline Wapopa, Imelda Wapopa, Philip Wapopa, Elizabeth Gikuhi amongst others. Mother-in-law of Bill Omondi, Margaret Wairimu & Rosemary Wambui. Grandmother of Davies, Trevor, Earl, Ian, Effie, Ivy, Terry & Chanelle. Aunt of Veronica, Adelaide, Elyne, Eric, Leila, Brian, Mildred, Lincoln among others. Cousin of Petronilla Nasambu, Wycliffe Temesi, Justice (Rtd) Richard Kuloba, Maurice Wangutusi, Professor Cornelius Wanjala among others.

Family & friends will be meeting at Railways Club on Monday 9th and Tuesday 10th from 5.00pm & at her home Simiyu in Runda. Main fundraising will be at Railways Club on Tuesday 10th January 2017 from 5.00pm.

The Requiem mass will be celebrated at the Consolata Shrine,Westlands on Wednesday 11th January at 10.00am. Burial will take place on Saturday 14th January 2017 at Kabula, Bungoma County, along Bungoma – Mumias Road.

    Mrs simiyu was an awesome teacher!! I remember her words of wisdom back when I was in primary school which is now over 15 yrs! She is forever loved and missed. My conferences to the entire family.
