Michael Chege Waweru (Wa Judy)

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Retired Chief Inspector of Police Michael Chege Waweru (Wa Judy) of Mitero Village, Mang’u, Gatundu North — Former Head of Scenes of Crime, Nairobi area on Tuesday, 3rd January 2017 after a brave battle with cancer.

Son of the late Waweru Gichonge and Pauline Wambui Waweru. Husband of Isabella Wanjiku Chege (Retired teacher Gikindu Primary School).

He is the father of Judy Wambui (KEMRI), the late Roman Waweru, Susan Muthoni (Nairobi), Alex Ndegwa (Formerly of Family Bank), Anne Wanjiku (Romagraffix Thika), Rose Wangari (Nairobi) and Christine Nyambura (Omwancha Mukiri & Onyango Advocates). Brother of Regina Nyaga

(Pako Restaurant, Nbi), Humphrey Kinyanjui, Charles Njoroge, Anthony Mungai (Germany) and Jane Njeri (Pako Restaurant, Nbi). Father in law of Thomas Gachuki (NPHL) and Peter Gakuya (Romagraffix Thika). Grandfather of Ehsani Kigamba, Tukuza Chege, Alyssa Nyambura, Wanjiku Ndegwa, David Gakuya, Samantha Wanjiku, Timothy Gichonge, John Wahuga and Loriq Mwangi among others.

Family and friends are meeting daily at his home in Mitero Village, Mang’u for funeral arrangements.

Cortege leaves Kenyatta University Mortuary on Friday, 13th January 2017 at 8.00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at St. John Catholic Church Mitero at 12.00 noon and thereafter burial at Kianganga arm, Mitero.
