Mwalimu Petronilla Njoki Gakure Born: 1936 – Died: 24th April 2017

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Mwalimu Petronilla Njoki Gakure.
Wife of Peter Gakure Kibe, mother of David Kibe, James Muriranja, Jane Wangari, the late Capt. John Gichuki, Susan Njuguini and Julius Muriithi. Mother-in-law of Lilian, Pauline and Teteiya. Daughter of the late Senior Chief Muriranja and the late Njuguini. Daughter in law of the late Kibe and and the late Mumbi. Grandmother of Petronilla Njoki, late Maureen Njoki, Jacinta Mwihaki, Jane Mumbi,Tess Njoki,Tom Gakure, Peter Gakure, Dave Kibe,Alexi Njoki, Kefa Gakure and Ethan Mwangi and many others. Sister of the late Alice Njeri, the late Mwangi Natu, Evelina Kabura, Peter Kiragu. Sister in law of Waithera, Gathoni,Waigumo, Wangari and the late Gibson, the fate Maina, Charles, the late Stanley and the late Agnes.
Friends and relatives are meeting daily at her home in Muranga, Mirigi village and at All Saints Cathedral on Thursday 27th and Friday 28th April from 5.30 pm to 8.00 pm for prayers and funeral arrangements. The cortege will leave Kenyatta University Mortuary on Tuesday, 2nd May 2017 at 8.00 am for funeral service at Geitwa Catholic Church from 11.00 a.m. The burial will be at her home in Murang’a County, Geitwa-Mugeka Location, Mirigi Village.
