It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Mwangi Dishon Thiong’o on Saturday 17/ 12/2016.

Husband of Eunice Wambui Mwangi. Father of Dishon Thiong’o (United Nations), James Gitau (formerly of Survey of Kenya, Jane Wangui (Murang’a High School) Lucy Njoki (PCEA Pipeline), Alice Wanjiru (Chicago, USA), Mary Waitherero Thuo (Ruai) and Anne Wangari (Muguga Polytechnic). Brother of the late Ruth Wambui Njuguna, Paul Kamau, Stephen Curu and the late Norman Njoroge. Father-in-law of Esther Waitherero, Rose Gathoni, Josiah Munyua (Ministry of Labour), John Gitahi (Chicago, USA), Joseph Thuo (Ruia) and Albert Waweru (Karai Polytechnic). Grandfather of many.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily at Harambee Sacco Estate (Donholm), House No. 467, Magomano Hotel, Nairobi at 6pm and at his rural home Ichichi village.

The cortege leaves K.U. Funeral Home on Tuesday 27/12/2016 at 7am and thereafter proceed for the burial service which will take place at his farm in Ichichi, Kangema, Murang’a County.
