We regret to announce the passing on of our Patriach Mzee Amon Onyango Akuro of Seme
Kanyadwera, Kisumu County, which occurred on Thursday 25th August 2016 at Avenue Hospital,
Kisumu. Son of the late Akuro wuon Ondiwo and Damar Okayo. Step son of the late Keya Akuro and
Hannah Rabilo. Husband of the late Helena Ndinya. Risper Ochieng and Perez Anyango. Brother of
Sospeter Okunya, Daniel Wenwa,John Olala,Samuel Kola, Ogango Okoth, Odhiambo Akuro, Michael
Omedo, Lucas Odongo, Magaret Wadegu, Naftali Akuro, Juma (all deceased) and Peris Oyugi. Brotherin-
law of the late Sulman Onyango Adul and Mama Nereah Onyango among others. Father of the
late Walter E.Amisi, the late Jashon W. Oluga, Elijah Adul, Symon Peter Meyo, Florence Winja, Joseph
Akama, Clarice Osewe, Roselyn Oluoch, the late Alice Nange, the late Rose Oduwo, the late Benta
Apiyo, Hesbon Ombewa, Jared Omondi, Karen Juma, George Ouma, Mary Akoth, Pauline Onyango,
Grace Hellen Onyango and Carolyne Achieng. Father-in-law of Rose Oluga, Mary Oluga, Hon. Anne
Adul (Speaker Kisumu County Assembly), Rosemary Meyo, Florence Akama, Mathew Winja, the late
Shadrach Osewe, John Ogola, Lucy Ouma and Polycarp Otedo. Grandfather of Carolyne, Tina, Hellen,
Sharon, Beryl, Precilla, Risper, Junita, Alpha, Damar and Doreen Oluga: Jackie, Darmon, Walter, Daniel,
Hellen, Milred, and Davies Adul, DeeDee, Sara and Sam Meyo Caleb, thlate Amon, and Don Akama,
Dona, Mercy, Grace, Julie, Edgar, Becky and Vicky Winja, Precila, Aggy, Olivia, Tony, Helen and Robert
Osewe, Maureen, Amon, Amellia and Emma Ogolla among others. Uncle of the Okunyas,Wenwas,Ola
las,Kolas,Omedo, Odongos, Akuros, Onyangos among others. He had 23 Great grand children, friend
and mentor to many. Family and friends are meeting at his home in Seme Kanyadwera and at Meyo’s
residence in Gigiri Nairobi, to raise funds to defray funeral expenses. There will be a major fund raising
meeting on Tuesday 6th September 2016 All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi. Burial ceremony will be on
17th September 2016 at Bonde Secondary School, off Kisian-Bondo Rd. Interment later in the day at
Mzee’s homestead, three km away.
