We would like to thank Father Kamomoe, CWA, CMA and the entire Holy Family Basilica Fraternity, Nairobi Chapel – Pastor Nick, Pastor Kabibi and the team, Father Patrick Device, Father Simon of Trinity Church and all the other Fathers who stood with us during this very difficult time.

We shall be forever grateful to Dr Mwongera and the entire team of Nairobi Kidney Centre, The Nairobi Hospital especially the St John’s Ward Nursing Team, Dr Sally Harman, Joshua, Joseph and Kuria  – Dad’s dedicated full time nurse. Thank you for giving Dad the best medical care and going beyond over and above expectations.

Thank you to Dad and Mom’s Community in Kileleshwa, to all our Family and Friends here and abroad, we shall be forever grateful for your overwhelming support during Dad’s hospitalization and as we laid him to rest. Thank you for giving of yourselves I’m prayer, financially and in kind. Finally thank you to the funeral committee who did an incredible job.

To all of you, May the Lord continue to shine His light upon you, may you continue to be abundantly blessed and may you find favour in His eyes.

We the children want to thank our MUM for loving Dad for the 56 years that God gave them together. Thank you mum for being a true woman of substance.

We regret to announce the death of Bishop Javier Echevarria.
Prelate of Opus Dei and Chancellor of Strathmore University on 12th December 2016 in Rome, Italy.

Bishop Echevarria was in Madrid. He worked closely with St Josemaria Escriva, founder of Opus Dei, from 1953 to 1975.

In 1994 he was elected Prelate of Opus Dei. On January 6, 1995, he was ordained Bishop by St John Paul II in St Peter’s Basilica.

A requiem Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Basilica today Friday 16th December at 2.30pm.

Grandmother and great grandmother of many.
The cortege leaves KU mortuary on 15th for a funeral service at her home in Mukurwe village Mang’u location, Gatundu, Kiambu.
