Francis Kiogora Mutunga

It is with deep sorrow and profound loss that we announce the passing on of Francis Kiogora Mutunga Deputy Director for Immigration Services (DDIS) at State Department For Immigration and Citizen Services, Embu Region which occurred on 18th April 2026 at Aghakan Hospital Nairobi after a short illness.

He was the beloved son of the late Laban Mutunga and Susan Mutunga and step son of the late Jeniffer Laban.

Husband of Fatma Badaso Mohammed. He was father of the late Ian Muguna, Sheila Karimi,Aisha Karwitha, Sophia Muthoni, Leila Makena,Alexius Kajuju, Christine Mwendwa and Nikita Kendi.

He was a cherished Brother of Florence Marangu, Carol Thuranira, the late Francis Mburugu, Joyce Kathurima, the late Julius Mutunga, Samuel Mbaabu, Joseph Murerwa, Martin Murira, Doris Laban, the late Morris Laban, Doreen Murithi, Lydiah Ntinyari and Daniel Mutethia.

He was a dear uncle of the late Irene, the late Kinoti, Mwenda and Mutuma Marangu, Christine, Kimathi, Mugambi, Alex and Bundi Thuranira, the late Koome, Murithi and Murangiri Mburugu, Chris and Michael Mithiri, Gatwiri and Kiriinya Mbaabu, Munene, Kinyua and Kinanu Murerwa, Kajuju and Mworia, Naito, Gakii and Gitonga Murira, Muriuki, Priestam, Prudence and Bradon Murithi, Muthomi, Makandi and Muriki Kirimi, Mutwiri, Makena and Wanjiku Mutethia. He was a cousin to many.

Family and friends are meeting daily at the family home in Kithoka, Meru County for prayers and funeral arrangements.

The cortege leaves Cool breeze funeral home in Meru on Friday 24th of April 2026 at 9:00 am for a funeral service and burial at the family home in Kithoka, Meru.
