Mr. Nixon Azariah Ochieng’ Ooko

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Mr. Nixon Axariah Ochieng Ooko of Kodero Bara Village, Rongo, Migori County which occurred on Wednesday the 15th of July 2026 in South Afnca.

Nixon formerly worked for British Airways, Regional Air and finally retired from Fly 540 Airline in 2019 Remembered for his vision, hard work, and business contributions, he left a lasting impact by improving regional air travel before his passing.

He was the son of the late Josiah Ooko and the late Persila Otuok Ooko of Kodero Bara Village Migori County.

Nixon was the husband of Dr. Mary Atieno Ooko. A loving father of Mrs Annette Adhiambo Grootboom, DrAgatha Damaris Ooko, Miss Elizabeth Aoko Ooko and Miss Esther Akinyi Ooko. Father in law of Mr, Zuktsa Grootboom and Prof Bernard Owaga. Doting grandfather of Jordan Zion Owaga. Zuko Liyema Ochieng’ and Micah Odhiambo.

He was the brother of the late Auka Ooko and the late John Amenya. He was the step-brother of Elizabeth Akinyi, Loise Asewe Obwanda, Anne Ronalda Hilda Ooko, Paul Owuor Ooko and Jonathan Ooko.

Funeral arrangements are going on in Nairobi and Rongo.

The main fundraising event will take place on 25th July 2026 at Nairobi Central SDA Church (Old Sanctuary) at 5.00pm.

The Memorial service will also be held at the Nairobi Central SDA Church (Maxwell) in Nairobi on Wednesday 29th July from 2.00pm.

The burial will be held on Friday 3Ist July 2026 at Kodern Bara village, Rongo- Migori County.
