Daughter of the late Onesmus Nyaga and the late Diana Njoki Nyaga.

Mother of the late Johnson Nyaga, Hildah Nyakio – Wa June (Kiria), Perry Wanjiku, Chrysostom Chege, (Wells Fargo Embu), Ruth Njeri, Nimrod Gikonyo, Timothy Thinji and Fridah Wambui (Bahrain).

Family and friends are meeting at her residence Muraranda Village, Murang’a County, Emmacra Hotel Nairobi and Blue Valley Estate Embu.

The cortege leaves Murang’a County mortuary on Wednesday 11 January 2017 at 8am for a church service at ACK Murarandia Church – Murang’a at 11.30 and thereafter, burial will be held at her home in Murarandia village.

Mother of Wilson Maina Thirikwa (Dodhia Packaging Ltd), Andrew Gichohi Thirikwa (Ongata Rongai), Agnes Waruguru Ndhunya (Kaputei), John Wanyoya Thirikwa (Allpack Industries), James Mwangi Thirikwa (Land Mawe Ltd) and Charles Kimunyi Thirikwa (Citi Hoppa). Mother in law of Nancy Muthoni, Phyllis Watiri, Maureen Mwende and James Ndhuya. Sister of Mary Njoki Kiongo, the late James Mwangi Wanjoya and the late Gerald Gatumbu Wanjoya. She had 13 grandchildren and a beloved Aunt of many.

The cortege leaves KU Funeral Home on Thursday 12th January 2017 at 6.30am funeral service will be conducted at AIPCA Mairo Inya-Shauri Church in Nyahururu and later burial at their family farm in Ngai-Ndeithia on the same day.

Mombasa businessman Tahir Sheikh Said, popularly known as TSS, died on Tuesday at a hospital in South Africa.

The billionaire’s son Tahir Mohamedconfirmed his death at Milpark hospital, saying he had been sick for a while.

“It’s a shock to us but it’s Allah’s plan,” he said, but noted the billionair was privileged to have lived for 72 years.

Mohamed said the bodywill arrive at about 1am on Wednesday morning for burial at Saragoi cemetery before midday.

Tahir had invested billions in the transport industry through TSS buses. He was also in the real estate and milling businesses, and had ventures at the Coast and other parts of the country.

The businessman’s family has been involved in wrangles over loan defaults of about Sh2.7 billion, associated with TSS Unga Millers.

Early in 2015, the government cancelled title deeds to large tracts of land in Lamu county that were associated with the tycoon.

Some of the land is said to have been used to secure loans in excess of Sh5 billion from two banks that are listed on the stock exchange.

It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden demise of Mzee Timothy Kimutai Tiony of Koyabei and Chepkechei, Kericho County, that occurred on 08.01.2017 at Coptic Hospital. He was the son of Kiptiony arap Chemaget and Taprantich (Both deceased). He was husband of Rhoda Tiony and Hellena Tiony (Both deceased).

Father of Grace, Pius, Charles, Joseph, Ludia, Moses, Benjamin, Jonathan, Sarah, Late Loice, Philip and Noah. His daughters in law are Hellen, Loice, Grace, Lily, Sarah, Mary, Sally and Diana. His sons in law are the Late Isaac, William and Selim and late Moses Lang’at. He was brother of the late Jeremiah Tiony

and SophiaYapsoi. Cousin of Josiah Lang’at, the late Isaac Lang’at and the late Chepkwony Lang’at. He was grandfather to 51 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.

There will be a fundraiser to offset medical expenses on Wednesday 11.01.2017 5pm at Nairobi Central SDA Church, Koyabei and Chepkechei homes respectively.

Burial will take place on 20.01.2017 at his Chepkechei home, Kipkelion Sub County.

He lived in Mombasa with his family. He worked at Shell Chemicals Company Limited East Africa from 1973 before he retired in 1992.

Son of the late Ezekiel Kariuki and the late Hannah Wanjiku. Husband of Rosemary Njeri Mwema.

Father of Ezekiel Kariuki, Anthony Huthu Mwema, Andrew Ngugi Mwema and Ann Wanjiku Mwema.

Brother of Julius Ngugi, Charles Ngugi, Andrew Ngugi, the late Henry Kimaru, Mwalimu Ben Mwema, Julia Wanjiru, Tabitha Wanjiru, Elizabeth Wangare and Rachel Wamboi. Grandfather of Andrey Mwema and Adney Arumba.

He will be laid to rest in Gatanga, Kigio location in Giatutu on Friday 6th January 2017.

Mother of Johnson Maina, the late Lucy Kariuki, Muturi Tatua (Survey of Kenya), the late Beatrice Macharia, Jemimah Gakumo, Millicent Wanjohi (Central Park Hotel), James Gachugu (KDF- Lanet), Muchiri Wanjohi Tatua (Kabaru), Dr. Richard Gikonyo (USA), the late Daniel Gichuki and Lydia Kimani. The Requiem mass will be celebrated at the Consolata Shrine,Westlands on Wednesday 11th January at 10.00am. Burial will take place on Saturday 14th January 2017 at Kabula, Bungoma County, along Bungoma – Mumias Road.

With Deep sorrow the Provincial Superior and the Salesians of Don Bosco, Eastern Africa, regret to announce the death of Rev. Fr. Thomas Punchekunnel sdb. He was born in Kerala, India, on 2nd November 1947.

He made his first religious profession on 8th May 1967. He was ordained as a priest on 22nd December 1975 and worked in Kolkotta, India till his coming to Africa as a Missionary. In 1980 he was part of the first group of Salesian Missionaries of Don Bosco who came to Eastern Africa. In Kenya he worked in Don Bosco Upper Hill in the early days of the Salesian Mission here, Don Bosco Mission Korr, Marsabit; Don Bosco Boys’ Town, Nairobi and Catholic Church, Nzaikoni, Machakos, (he was the pioneer of Nzaikoni parish). In Tanzania he worked in Don Bosco Youth Training Centre, Iringa. He was the financial administrator of the province for six years. Finally he was re-appointed as the assistant Parish Priest of Nzaikoni parish from where he went to his heavenly Father on 4th January 2017.

The funeral and burial arrangements: 11th January 2017 Wednesday at 03.00 pm, Requiem Mass and Vigil at Catholic Church, Nzaikoni 12th Thursday 09.00am, viewing of the body at the Shrine of Mary Help of Christians — Upper Hill 12th Thursday 10.00 am, Funeral Mass at the Shrine of Mary Help of Christians, Upper Hill followed by burial at the Salesian Cemetery at Don Bosco Utume, Karen.

Stepbrother of Joseph Mathenge, Benedict Munene, Lydia Wangeci, Simon Gikonyo, Agnes Wacera, Peter Munyoro, Samuel Kariuki, Mary Wangeci, Richard Mathenge, Grace Wanjiku and Ann Muthoni. Brother-in-law of Diana Wangari, Rose Wambui, Elizabeth Wangui, Joseph Gachau, Nancy Wanguu, Eunice Wamuyu, Godfrey Gatheru, Nicholas Githaiga and Danson Wahome. Uncle and grandfather of many.

The cortege leaves Outspan Funeral Home, Nyeri on Tuesday 10th January 2017 for a requiem mass and burial thereafter at his home at Ithenguri (Itheakua), Nyeri County.
