He was the father of Jonah, Naomi, Joel, Joyce, Winnie, Nahashon, Caleb, Nicholas, Charles, the late Benjamin, Ezekiel, Joan, Damaris, Stella, Danson and Mirriam.

He was the brother of the late Zipporah, the late Samson, Raeli, Lina, Joseph and Agnes. Father in-law of Roseline, Lydia, William, Joseph, Naomi, Sammary, Irene, Doreen, Faith. Faith, Chris, Davis and Cosmas.

It is with acceptance of God’s will that we announce the resting of our beloved Dr Mbaari Kinya, PhD, CEO and Founder of WEET Enterprises Ltd., on Sunday, 28 June 2026.

Dr. Kinya was a loving mother of Wambui Kinya and Mungai Kinya and a doting grandmother of Mbatia Mwangi.

She was the cherished daughter of the late Dr. Arthur Joseph Kinya and the late Virginia Wambui Kinya of Ngemwa village, Ikinu, Githunguri Sub-County, Kiambu County. She was a dear sister of Wangari Clelland (Canada) and Lawrence Clelland, as well as the late Kahugu Kinya, the late Muchai Kinya, and the late Karebe Kinya.

She was a beloved aunt, cousin, and friend to many.

Dr. Kinya was a pioneer in renewable energy, a champion for the sustainable empowerment of women, an educator, and a dedicated mentor.

A service of thanksgiving and celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, 8 July 2026 at Rosedale Gardens, Kilimani (off Dennis Pritt Road, Nairobi) starting at 2:00 p.m.

He was the beloved husband of the late Rosebell Waithira Chege and a devoted father to Toussaint Kinyanjui (Nash), Sandra Nyokabi and Moses Waweru.

Prof. Waruingi was the cherished son of the late Paul Kinyanjui Waruingi and Grace Nyokabi Kinyanjui.

He was a beloved brother of the late Charles Waruingi, Tom Waruingi, Margery Kahuya, Leah, Lesinko, Lanet, Sima, Oscar, the late Nancy Waruingi, the late Manasseh Linde. Kepher Tande, the late Sironet Tande, Zipporah Kaiser and Nalamae Keloi.

He was a treasured uncle, grandfather, mentor, colleague and friend to many.
